Day 666 - April 12 - It didn't work

Well, the vent's still acting up, so Connor is still tethered to the house. Of course, it's raining cats and dogs as I speak, so we probably wouldn't have gone out anyway, but it's the thought that we can't figure this thing out that's oppressive. We've replaced the ventilator itself, the battery (which was tested with a load on it on Saturday), and the connecting cable, and we've built a new wiring harness. That's the entire system, and it still isn't working right. Anybody out there understand soldering and wiring for electronics and electrical systems? The wiring harness replacement is the weakest link in the "we replaced everything" chain - my mechanical skills aren't the best - but when you've done everything you can think of and it still doesn't work, call in an expert. Any experts out there?

The three of us did manage to get out for a few minutes on Saturday before the rain hit. We took a drive up to a lake nearby and had a short picnic together, and it gave Connor a chance to see something beside the inside of the house. He really enjoyed being outdoors for a few minutes, even though the wind chill made it pretty cold. He's always been an outdoors nut, so he had a good time seeing turkey and other birds, as well as trying to spot deer and wild pigs as we drove along.

This week, in addition to your prayers for Connor I would ask that you add CheriƩ and I to your prayer list if you can find room for another request. The stresses that have been placed on our marriage are difficult to manage, and we need God's help to walk this walk.

Thank you.

Eric

Hi..just lifting you up in prayer..My heart truly aches for your walk!! These verses are on my heart for you today: "God arms me with strength and he makes my way perfect. He makes me as surefooted as a deer, enabling me to stand on mountain heights. He trains my hands for battle; he strengthens my arm to draw a bronze bow. vs. 39..YOU HAVE ARMED ME WITH STRENGTH FOR THE BATTLE." Ps. l8: 32-34..39.

Battles are exhausting..Cannot imagine what your walk has been..Only God can know.. May he continue to make you all feel His strength..His power..May He overwhelm you with His confidence.. You are not laboring in vain..
You all are exceptional people..who make me want to know Him more because of the walk you are on.. You help me to continue on in this life journey..knowing God is with us...even in silence..and darkness..God is with us!!
We are praying..
love,
Kathy MacPhail

Here's a prayer for all of you:

Lord, there is someone out there who knows how to fix Connor's vent. Please send him to the Williamsons so that they can get Connor's vent working. And please send him quickly!! This has been a difficult time for them. I know that someone knows EXACTLY what to do to fix it.

And bless Eric and Cherie in their relationship. Let them be close to you and to each other. Fill them with your grace and strength.

AMEN!!

Be BLESSED in JESUS!!

First, a big "thank you" to those who continue to lift us up in prayer - my words cannot properly express our gratitiude knowing that there are folks standing by us, even when they don't have words to say or things to do. Knowing you're there is such a help to me personally, and to the family as a whole. Second, I want to say a special thank you to Kathy - Kathy, hearing words of encouragement from you, and words to bolster our faith in the God we serve, mean so much to me because I know a little bit of your story. Your words, knowing the dark places your walk has led you over the years, are a bright light of hope when I'm depressed or discouraged. Thank you.

And thank you all.

God bless,

Eric

Amen! I don't know Kathy or Jody and, actually, I have never met the Williamson family but what a blessing you are to me in my spiritual walk. The rough places along the road are ones where we are lifted up by the Lord who says "I AM" your light, your refuge and stronghold, your living water, and the alpha and omega.
It is more than I can begin to understand that He knows just what we need and so often sends Christians our way who can lighten our load. Blessings to you.

Eric,

Have you found someone to fix the vent yet? I had some in mind to ask, but wanted to see if it's been fixed yet first.

I have SOO been praying for you guys! Not a day goes by that I don't think of you and pray for you!!

We have friends in a similar situation, and I know it can be tough on a marriage, even though you love your kids and would do anything for them while they themselves are going through a difficult time, like Connor. It's rough on the whole family!!

I'm really praying for you and Cherie at this time!! Won't stop.

And continue to pray for restoration for Connor!!

Let us know again, if the chair has been fixed.

We love you, our family in the Lord!
Kim

Eric and Cherie, As a faithful reader of your blog, I try to "check-in" to see if there are any prayer requests. I wanted to let you know that your family is in my prayers. I'm not sure what I can do, if anything, but if I can lend my services in any way, please let me know. I am available to run errands, clean the house, whatever you can think of... I'm available and willing. God Bless You and Sustain You, Robin Lipscomb 778-1682
