Day 414 - August 3 - "B"

Briefly (because I'll be late for work), I wanted to post up for today. I wanted to say "thanks" to the respondents from yesterday, and especially agree with Fred. I don't know how many times I've thanked God for my job and it's steadiness since this began last year. I used to grumble about it alot, but watching my friends and siblings struggle with job issues over the last year, I've realized what a blessing it is to have a steady job while we go through this journey. I think we'd all be overwhelmed if we had to deal with that pressure as well. So I'll join Fred in thanking God for ATC!

Interestingly enough, today marks the 28th anniversary of the reason I even have a job - the controller's strike back in 1981. I know that a lot of people, including some of my friends and colleagues, were deeply impacted by that strike. But the fact that He used that event in 1981 to provide for us now is an excellent example of how God uses ALL things for good for those who love Him and are called according to His purpose. Thank you, Lord.

So, B. What are we thankful for that starts with B? How about "boldness", as in "approaching the Throne of Grace with boldness" (Heb. 4:15-16)?

CheriƩ and Connor are still asleep. Hopefully they'll add some more when they awake!

Love you guys! Hold fast - daylight comes.

Guess I missed out on yesterday's post! I was going to say that I was thankful for the AIRWAVES that make it possible for me to be in touch with ALL of those that I love that AREN'T in the states. My family in Japan, my friends in other countries and states...you guys!

However, for the letter B I will say that I am thankful for the BEAUTY that God has surrounded me with in the form of loving hearts, Christian friends and family, as well as the mountains, the hills, the oceans, the flowers. I could keep going, but you get the picture. Thank you God! YOU are Beautiful!

The Bible. How else could we know Him and make Him known.

I was out of state for a wedding so I missed A. I'll cover them both with my B word. I'm thankful for my daughter, Brooke Alyssa. A special blessing from the Lord.

Breaking through...
rough times, storms, heart-breaks, loss, sorrow. it's always amazing to me how one moment we think we can't take it any longer, and the next- we are left wondering what was the big deal anyway?? God does have His way of getting us through, and for this I am thankful for today! All yesterdays fade away!

I'm going to go with Joelle. I choose BROTHER. I lost my marriage two years ago this month. My heart remains BROKEN. But about six months later, I had the opportunity to be a BLESSING to my favorite BROTHER (don't tell the others!). His life had become a BUMMER and it it continued that way, he very well may not have survived. In Feb '08 he accepted my invitation to BLOW off California, and choose Washington state or BUST!

He has shared my home since. He has his demons and I have mine, but we are the wind BENEATH each other's wings. He is my BEST BUDDY. We enjoy one another's company. Ours is a symBiotic relationship. We are BENEFICIAL to one another. It's the BEST.

I no longer worry for his health, safety, or life. He provides a shoulder when I need one. We are BLESSED.

My dad and I were just talking about that strike a couple weeks ago. I was too young to understand the effects the firing had on those workers, but I did realize then that President Reagan was a man of his word and he meant what he said.

My "B word" for today is Brendan, as in my son, Brendan Boy! He truly is a gift from God. I was never supposed to have a son, could not have one, but God provided a miracle in allowing me to adopt him!
