Day 289 - March 30 - I don't have a catchy title...

Connor was an encouragement to me in an indirect fashion yesterday - he posted Psalm 62:7 on his Facebook account - "My salvation and my honor depend on God ; He is my mighty rock, my refuge." It pleases me to see my son so faithfully trusting his God, even when him doing so highlights how poorly I do the same. Maybe "especially" would be a better word than "even"!

Not much has been going on lately- Connor has been having rough nights for the last few days. Last night he was up from 1:30 with chest pains and coughing - he finally gave up trying to sleep at about 4 AM and got on his computer, and has been up since then. So hopefully he'll get better sleep tonight. Of course, we are praying fervently that he would be protected from infection in his lungs - we remember all too well the days of pneumonia in Fresno, so your support in that regard means so much to us.

Of course, when he's feeling like that, one or both of us are up with him as well. In last night's case (like most nights), it was Cherié, as I had to get up at 0400 anyway to head for work. This is really telling on all of us, and it's days (and nights) like this where we just cancel everything we were supposed to do and try to recuperate all day. So if you're one of the people who get the "we're really sorry, but..." phone call, thank you for understanding.

As you can tell, all three of us seem to be majoring in Exhaustion right now, so your prayers would be appreciated - for rest, and for our health to be protected as well. Additionally, Joélle (back in Chicago) is fighting what may be an inner ear infection, and she is struggling with a bit of discouragement what with the pressures of her classes and the strain of preparing for her wedding. Your prayers for her would be wonderful, as well.

Thank you for staying with us - some days everything just feels so stagnant, and knowing you're traveling with us is encouraging to all of us.

God bless,

Eric

With are still with you all, Eric! We pray for you very often. Think of you all all the time! Excite to hear of the movement in Connor's hands, and the breathing for long periods on his own! How exciting to see God at work!!

And we will sure be praying for sleep for Connor and all of you. I've been very curious how Connor can be on his computer. You may have told us at some point, but I don't recall. How does he move the "mouse," etc. I'm thrilled he can be on Facebook, etc. Still feels connected to others.

Well, just know we are still with you all in thought and much prayer.

And we sure are praying for Joelle also. We know how stressful it can be to plan a wedding especially while your daughter is away at college and still trying to cram to finish up all her school work. Very tough!

We're praying!
With love in Christ!
Kim

Hi Williamson's
We think of you all the time and are always praying and believing God!!! FAITH...God only asks for just a mustard seed...but why does that seem so BIG at times..This journey he has you on..is very spectacular..Not an easy one..that's for sure..Beyond all "human" understanding and reasoning..But..Oh..How I believe and so many others..that this "boy" of yours is going to be the vessel that God can use.. Just the "waiting" is the hardest..most difficult...gut-wrenching..wait..
My heart is praying these words: "Wait for the Lord; be strong...and take heart and wait for the Lord". Ps. 27:l4.. Also.
"They that WAIT on the Lord...SHALL reknew their strength..Is... As you continue WAITING on the Lord..May He renew your strength..your hope.. your faith..your trust..your courage..your peace..your energy.. and your joy..
We love you so dearly and won't stop praying and believing and expecting!!!!
Love

Have you ever been imprisoned?

Don't forget about those in prison. Suffer with them as though you were there yourself. Share the sorrow of those being mistreated, as though you feel their pain in your own bodies.

Hebrews 13:3 NLT

Tell me how much you know of the suffering of your fellow men, and I will tell you how much you have loved them.

Helmut Thielicke

Solidarity in Suffering

At any given time, many of God's saints are in prison. The prison may be literal, or it may be a product of circumstances. It can be financial debt, a broken relationship, a physical ailment, or any other consuming situation.

A huge problem in the church is when Christians look at their imprisoned brothers and sisters and assume that God has not favored them. Paul probably experienced such a phenomenon. We read his prison epistles and marvel at his suffering for the cause. But many of his contemporaries may not have marveled. They may have seen his trouble as a sign of God's disfavor and wondered why someone with so much potential had fallen to such depths.

God's prisons are full of His loved ones. He uses those experiences mightily, as He did with Paul, Joseph, John the Baptist, John the disciple, and numerous other biblical examples. In fact, many of those whom He used in powerful ways have experienced an imprisonment, captivity, or loneliness ordained directly by Him.

Are you in prison? You are probably not literally behind bars, but your circumstances may make you feel as if you are. Don't despair; it will not last. It is ordained by God and is designed either for your current witness or future usefulness. He is refining you and molding you into His image, the exact likeness of His crucified Son.

Thanks for letting us know what to pray about, I will definitely be asking God for strength, good sleep and health for all of you. I pray that He would give you peace and His love today! I know that His love never fails, but I hope today you find many examples of His abounding and amazing love! It is so good to beseech the name of God, what a powerful name it is.

So great to hear about the trials you're doing off the vent and 15 minutes!!! Yeah, God, and way to go, Connor! We will especially be praying for rest, health and some respite for you guys. What has happened with the possible caregiver/s to help you? I might have missed that somewhere. Sure wish we were closer to spell you.

Love you all!

Kristie

"Ditto" on all that Valerie L. had to say. I really appreciated the words about being in a prison--spoke to me about many times of my life. I appreciate your sharing that with all of us.
Hope that your next post tells of a better night's sleep--one or two can be hard to handle but now that they multiple upon eachother, I know you are wearing thin...
love to you all--our God is a rock and a strong fortress! Cheryl
