Day 283 - March 24 - New pics
I was reminded again that it's been quite a while since I'd posted any pictures. Since we had taken some while Joélle was home with us, here's a quick photo montage of the family...
The last few were taken at Joélle's bridal shower last week -
Connor continues in good spirits, although he was complaining of his chest hurting this evening. Every time he says that I cringe a bit - I still clearly remember his earlier battles with pneumonia, and nobody wants to go do that again. This isn't like that - it's just an ache that he gets now and again - but I still twitch a bit when I hear it.
Speaking of twitches, Connor continues to have small movements in his fingers and hands. Cherié was researching information the other day, and she found that the little finger, which Connor can move a little bit on command, is controlled through the C8 level of nerves. If you remember, Connor's level of injury is C4/C5, and the docs have always said that if he gets any thing back at all, it will be only one level below his injury. Last I heard, C8 was three below C5! Pretty cool, eh?

Eric, Thank you for including some pictures for us. I had heard there was going to be a shower and I'm glad it was able to be done. Too bad you can't keep that girl down a little longer! It was sure nice to see pictures of she and Connor together. Tell Cheri' to give us a call if they decide to go out for a walk in the next few days. Austin and I would love to join them.
God bless you all,
Gina Vaiana
You know what's weird? I woke up this morning with the strangest finger (actually thumb) twitch and it is very annoying to me. BUT...I am going to use that small "annoyance" to remember that each and every time it twitches....I need to be praying for Connor. As it stands...God's going to be hearing from me a lot today on Connor's behalf. More than usual.
Thanks for the great posting of pictures.

It was fun looking at those pictures. It looks like you all had a great time.
Joelle is going to make a beautiful bride!
Eric...First of all, thank you SO much for taking the time to send me a personal email regarding my doggie, you really have no idea how much that meant to take time away from your family to do that. the picture of Conner and Joelle sleeping made me cry...you have one very very special daughter and a very special family. Cherish every minute you have with them. My daddy has been gone 11yrs next month and i can still hear him laughing but i have no regrets, we loved each other to the very end. My only regret is he was not a Christian and i struggle with it everyday. Pastor Wade has helped me through alot of anger, confusion and every other feeling you can come up with. And all i can hope is he made peace that last month we had him. I love your website, your family and the love i see that you all have for each other and you are in our prayers every night at dinner. keep up the great work, i really dont think you realize how much everyone that comes to this page waits for any sign of touch, feeling, sadness...ANYTHING...you are a very special person that God gave to all of us. Hi everyone!
Aww, what great pictures, thanks for being so open with us Connorwathers. I love to see what is going on with the fam and I really appreciate the close moments we see with Connor and Joelle! I hope you had a great bridal shower Joelle, I like the one with your cleaning products. I'm guessing they are preparing you to take care of your house! Well I am always thankful and encouraged when I hear about little twitching of the fingers. I will pray for more movement to encourage you all and that Connor remains healthy! Praying hard that you all have a day filled with grace and God's provision on you!
I love the pictures of Connor and Joelle-they are so sweet and tender. And Joelle w/ her gloves and bucket made me laugh-she's all ready for domestic bliss! I am encouraged to hear of the small movements especially since they are controlled by C8. I think we are all learning some human physiology too! :)

Thank you for sharing the photos of your lovely daughter and her handsome brother. I can tell they really care about one another -- even though I am sure htey didn't always know that (as a mom of a boy and a girl--now 20 and 23). Also appreciated the FUN photo at the shower--princess crown and cleaning supplies--cute combo. May God bless each of you in every need--big and small.
