Day 215 - January 15 - How did it go?
Cherié and Connor spent the afternoon with the social worker as he evaluated our situation. At the end of the interview, he told Cherié that we would be approved for at least 235 hours of caregiving a month. If you figure 40 hours a week, that's roughly 1.5 full-time people helping each month! So that was a blessing, and an answer to prayer. Thank you for your support.
We'll be figuring out what this is going to look like for the household over the next few weeks. Please be in prayer that we would have wisdom as we make decisions, and that the right folks would be found who will be just the right people for Connor and for our family.

That is fantastic news that it sounds like help is on the way. I'm praying that this would take some of the physical burden off you and Cherie so that you will get more rest, etc. I think it will be great for Connor, too.
Thanks for the update. There is not a day that goes by that I don't think of you all. I try to pray whenever I do.

What an answer to prayer! Very exciting to hear of the help you'll be getting! We'll pray for just the right person/persons. And we'll pray that Connor can feel good about this and can connect well with the person.

All I can do is echo the words of others "praise God" from whom ALL blessings flow!
He knows what we need--and when we need it and I think now is the time that you are realizing that more than ever. We thank God for the caregiver that is with you 4hrs. a day but know it's tough paying out of your own pocket so pray for a good "fit" with the FT caregiver(s) that come to you.

I was sitting at dinner wondering if you were approved for that! It was a blessing to come home, log on, and find out that our prayers have been answered! Yay!

This will be such a blessing for you all and I pray that the perfect caregivers for Connor will be found and that the adjustment will go smoothly. It should be an honor for anyone to help take care of him. One thing I know for sure is that he is sure to minister to whomever is there.
