Day 146 - November 7 - "That's definitely me"
A quick post before bed, but one I think you'll want to hear. Connor and I were sitting together in the living room this evening while CheriƩ was busy in the kitchen. Suddenly, without any precursor, Connor simply said "Yep, that's definitely me". Thinking this was an odd thing for him to say without some sort of lead-in, I asked "What's definitely you?" The boy answered "My thumb".
He had decided to see if he could move his thumb, and recognized that he had, in fact, commanded the movement he saw. It sounded like it had surprised him, so I'm glad he is now seeing a bit of progress.
We continue to give God thanks and praise for His watchcare over us, and for His army of prayer warriors surrounding us.
Have a great night.
Eric

I don't know why, but this entry made me laugh. Laughter is good.
Love you guys.
Our prayers definitely go up for you guys--both in praise for the progress Connor is making and for God's grace in keeping you all going when the road seems tougher than tough! We know God has so much good planned for 2008---even though Dec 31st is getting closer and closer. We pray, as well, for a good night's sleep for you all and a few minutes of relaxation and also blessing from God's word and fellowship w/ other Christians. Looking for an updated photo of the remodel--if you have one :)
Awesome! Praise God!
What a great post! It's so encouraging to hear of continued progress. Connor, keep testing yourself. I want to hear more reports of you surprising yourself!
Giving thanks to God,
Jenann
Hey - thumbs up! For Connor & God. We're still here, we're still praying...even Grandma Hinds asked about Connor today from Florida..

Recently I went to the hospital with my daughter to visit a friend of hers. Sarah's friend is a middle aged woman who had just had surgery for her third bout with cancer. It had been a only a few days since she had abdominal surgery and she was still quite weak and suffering a lot of pain. This woman updated us on her condition and then I heard her ask Sarah one question: How's Connor? I just wanted you to know that her prayers are being added to so many others and that even in her fear and suffering, this woman did not forget to pray for Connor's recovery. God is faithful.

Hey, I was about to say, "Way to go, Connor (and God), thumbs up, but someone beat me to it.
Oh well, it's worth repeating!
How exciting about more thumb movement. See, God's "on the move!" He's not finished with you yet, Connor! Next, it will be your fingers and toes!!
Eric, as a mom of 3 boys all around Connor's age, I am just wondering how Cherie is doing at this point? I really have been praying for her too, as I know this all has to really be tough on her. There's something about us mom's, wanting to be the "Momma Bear" protecting our "cubs!" And to feel so helpless!
So if you can, let us know how she's holding up and let her know we're really praying for her too!!
Love & prayers in Christ!
Kim
That's great!!!! But no hitch-hiking without telling mom and dad where you're going !!!!!!

Hi Connor,
Yesterday morning (Friday) my prayer for you and your family was for new mercies. I was so glad to read this post. We're praying for God to give you strength and patience as you take it one day at a time.
Eric, thank you for keeping the posts coming. It means so much that in spite of all your family has to do, you are all still so dedicated to keeping us in the loop.
We love you!!
