Day 140 - November 1 - On Demand
We've had a pretty eventful weekend so far (and by "weekend", I mean Friday and Saturday, which are my regular days off each week). On Friday morning, I went up and closed the deal on the van, which is now taking up a fairly large patch of concrete out in the driveway. Since Connor didn't get up into his chair yesterday until after dark (when he and JoƩlle began watching scary movies with their friends while also answering the doorbell every 47 seconds), he didn't get to see the thing until this afternoon. But today we finally went out and helped him into it, and even took a quick spin around the block just to try it out. While he is quick to appreciate the vehicle, it's apparent that he sees it as a great big sign of his situation, rather than "necessary transportation until he doesn't need it anymore". I made him a deal - once he's walking again, we'll sell the thing and use the money to put towards a car he wants instead. He was pretty quick to accept that deal!
I guess my big news today is the "On Demand". This afternoon, Connor began moving his left thumb and forefinger - on demand! He's done it maybe a dozen times so far, early this afternoon, early evening, and as late as a few minutes ago. Right now the movements are in the fractions of inches, but he is definitely making them of his own accord and because he chooses to. What exciting news!
We give thanks to God for this sign of Connor's restoration, at one and the same time both so small and so huge. We continue to trust Him for His provision, and for Connor's complete healing. Hold fast!

This is fantastic news! We are so happy to hear you are moving your fingers. God is awesome! The van sounds great. We look forward to seeing you back at church one of these days.
Praise God - cell by cell, a fraction of an inch at a time....God's perfect timing, His will is being done.
We continue to pray for each exciting movement forward! We will not give up!
Connor,
Our God is an awesome God!! Keep crossing the valley toward the giant...God can take that hill. :)
Keeping the faith!!

What an awesome GOD! Of course Connor is moving his fingers "on demand". This is what we have been praying for.
GOD heals in so many ways, HE does heal in HIS time and HIS way.
May GOD continue to guide Connor's every movement, feeling and victory.
THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU
LORD GOD ALMIGHTY.
GOD bless and good night.
Hi Williamson family:
That is major! Sounds like the start of rehabilitation to me! I don't mean to be glib with that comment...I just see that as a sign that he CAN have movement below the point of injury, be it ever so small today. I praise God for this development.

That is so exciting! I also cannot wait to see the car Connor choses when he is walking again! :)
Waaa...Hoooo!!! That is huge!
Hi Eric:
Here is a quote I read that I felt prompted to send to you...
"[At Pentecost] they were not submerged in God, nor did God override them. God was God and they were they; but Person flowed into person, Will into will, Mind into mind, and they could scarcely tell where they ended and God began. He was closer than the blood in their veins and nearer than their own heartbeats. If they should reach out to touch Him, they would reach too far."

Yes we do have an Awesome God!Thank you Lord, for we know every good and perfect gift is from You and as Connor reaches out and touches the hem of your garment we know and believe we will see him pick up his mat and walk and we know your timing is perfect, Amen!
Blessings Connor,
Still Trusting and Praying in Downey
Delight thyself also in the Lord; and He shall give thee the desires of thine heart.
Psalm 37:4
Praise God for this wonderful news. Keep the faith Connor -- God is restoring you!
Before you know it Connor will be pointing that finger to which car he wants!
Love you all!!
Praise God. I was reading on a different website about people who weren't medically suppose to walk again but after much hard work they are walking. Some with crutches, some with walkers and some on their own. Anyway, they talked about how much work it was. I was just curious if Connor has a therapist still or if you guys are his therapists? Either way, hang in there, Connor, and work hard!
Praise the Lord! I have my Fonzie thumbs up! So excited to hear how God is working! Have a blessed and beautiful evening
yay! and whoohoo! Thank you for updating us on what God is doing. Very exciting!
We are praising God right now!
This is out of Streams in the Desert from this morning:
Acts 12:5 Peter was kept in prison, but the church was earnestly praying to God for him.
...Do we truly know the power of our supernatural weapon of prayer? Do we dare to use it with the authority of a faith that not only asks but also commands? God baptizes us with holy boldness and divine confidence, for He is looking not for great people but for people who will dare to prove the greatness of their God! -attributed to A.B.Spurgeon
Streams cont'd...In your prayers, above everything else, beware of limiting God, not only through unbelief but also by thinking you know exactly what He can do. Learn to expect the unexpected, beyond all that you ask or think.
I truly believe God IS working out His plan and your whole family has been an amazing testimony of surrender and faith in a reality that must feel as hopeless as a prison cell, wrapped in two chains, with two stinky guards sleeping on either side.
Bebo Norman has a new song out, I only remember the first line, but the Lord woke me with this on a particularly dreadful day a few weeks ago..."I will lift my eyes to the Maker of the mountain I must climb" There is a certain amount of determination to choose to believe, it's a choice, not a feeling...we believe in you.
Praise God!!! What wonderful,wonderful news!!!
Love in Christ!

Lynda,
I agree with you WHOLEHEARTEDLY!!! Thank you for this reminder. We must not "limit God." I loved what you said here, "beware of limiting God, not only through unbelief but also by thinking you know exactly what He can do. Learn to expect the unexpected, beyond all that you ask or think."
Jesus "told" us to come to Him with our "hearts desires" and "pleading to Him!" We need to obey the Lord, and do what He asks of us!!!
Thank you for your reminders here. We continue to lift Connor up for complete healing, and are so very excited about what God is doing here!
In Christ!
Kim
this is so incredible!!!! thank you for helping me each day to see our God doing modern day miracles - faith can be so fragile and each day my faith is renewed by this amazing testimony. You have no idea how Connor's story has saved me...............

Our God is so good--that's all that I can say. Whenever the road seems hard -- and doctors seem to think they know all the answers -- there a people that surprise them! I can say this, even as a nurse, with respect for both the Great Physician and doctors of every specialty. I've been learning how to use my right hand / arm again after a fracture and know how much work it's been so I am definitely part of your cheering section as you learn to move your fingers again! I love the comment that Linda made about tickling your kitten's ears b/c it's the "little things in life" that we learn to treasure the most at times. God loves you and you are in our prayers--
