Day 137 - October 29 - A tougher day

Cherié and Connor had a tougher day today - we're having trouble keeping Connor's lungs clear, so it was a moment by moment battle for most of the day. Fortunately, things settled down a bit as the evening wore on, and Connor is almost asleep now as I sit by his bedside and blog. Keeping the boy's lungs clear is a major priority for us - pneumonia lurks behind every cough and wheeze and Connor's condition makes it difficult to perform even such a simple, taken for granted thing as coughing. We would particularly appreciate your prayers for the health of Connor's lungs, and that he would be protected from any such infections.

Today the kitties got repaired - I mean, fixed - at the vet. They're a bit lethargic, but will most likely be as right as rain tomorrow. Someone asked for the cats' names - Connor named his "Coon" because of the rings on her tail. Joélle (who follows in her proud father's footsteps as an avid Monty Python fan) has decided to name her kitty "Reginald Luxury Yacht". Of course, those of you who appreciate fine British humor will know that, although it's spelled "Luxury Yacht", it's pronounced "throat warbler mangrove". Seriously, you'll just have to watch the sketch. The name has already been shortened to "Reggie", but I want to take the cat to the vet sometime and explain the name to the poor receptionist.

And yes, both of the cats are females.

And "Reginald Luxury Yacht" was followed closely in popularity by "Nigel Incubator Jones", which was my choice...

So now, having proven to everyone's satisfaction that the stress really has driven us around the bend, I bid you goodnight. 8-)

I would have loved to have been a part of the cat naming conversation! What a hoot...

We are praying especially for Connor's lungs and for protection from complications. Lord, touch Connor's whole respiratory system right now, I pray.

Yesterday I worked on rehab and took care of a number of multi-trauma patients including a quad. It made me pray even more all day and miss you guys. Oh, I gave the family your website and they said that they'd already been on because they met you before Connor left! What a small world.

Know that we're still checking the blog pretty much daily. We love you all,

Kristie for the Robinsons

How cute with the kitties, we just adopted 2, one of each. Mc Lovin & Typsy, hee hee.

As I read your blog about Connor's lungs, I remember when my father was having lung trouble, of course a very different reason than Connor's, however, when a house is under construction, lots of little particles are airborne and this is what the Dr.s pointed out to my Dad when he would get things going on in his lungs. Just a thought.
I wish I were there to help you all. 3 years is a long time to be away from a "church" family, but always in our thoughts & prayers.

Praying for Connor's lungs. What a frightening, exhausting ordeal.

My kids love the old Dukes of Hazard TV series. So we have pets by the name of Rosco and Cooter and their friend has Daisy. I use to have a dog named Arod. People that were baseball fans would say, "What a cool name." Non baseball fans would kind of look at us, like how weird. So I understand how you might feel the need to explain the name of Reggie to the receptionist. :)

My daily devotion had this, and I prayed for you all again....as usual.

Colossians 1:9
(The Message Bible)

Be assured that from the first day we heard of you, we haven't stopped praying for you, asking God to give you wise minds and spirits attuned to his will, and so acquire a thorough understanding of the ways in which God works. We pray that you'll live well for the Master, making him proud of you as you work hard in his orchard. As you learn more and more how God works, you will learn how to do your work.

I am wondering if Connor has Medical and or SSI. Maybe you could get some help from them for someone to come morning and evening to help with all the things done at wake up and at bedtime. It also seems to me that you could get a visiting nurse in two to three times a week to check him and help with his lungs. Please look into this with your insurance, medical and SSI. This is for your own sanity and help.

Hi Williamson family, We continue to pray for you all and San never takes his ConnorWatch bracelet off. We have been a bit out of the loop as we've been going through some interesting times ourselves. Now that you're home, we hope we will be able to at least help with a meal or something. I will look around on the blog for who I'd call about that.

In Christ's wonderful love,
the Kenyons
