Day 132 - October 25 - Kitties

Connor remains healthy tonight, and is enjoying his new kitty, as you can see...

He wasn't the only one who got a new kitty, though - JoƩlle got one too...

The reason the kids have new cats is primarily because when we left for Fresno back in June, we owned two cats and a dog. Like Job, however, we lost 2/3rds of our flocks while in this crisis, and until today had been reduced to a single large, dopey dog. So we decided we would replace them. We brought the cats home this afternoon and Connor has spent most of the time since then persuading the kitty to curl up and go to sleep with him. Seems to be working so far... 8-)

You know, I can't form a cohesive thought - I keep falling asleep at the computer. I've done it about five times since I sat down to start this post, but I can't do it. I'll try to post what I was thinking of tomorrow morning. It should dovetail nicely with the "My Atrophied Faith" articles...

Hi Eric,

Connor, I am so glad you are home! How wonderful to have two new kitties! But I had to comment, I am sure Tank must have hurt feelings at being called a " large, dopey dog"! Really, Eric! I have often imagined her relief and excitement at Connors homecoming.

I continue to pray for all of you.

Sorry to hear you lost your original kitties, but so happy to see Connor and Joelle have found new ones to cuddle! Sometimes it's just comforting to have a cat who will just come park on your lap or shoulder and snuggle up for a nap. I'm sure the two of them can also provide entertainment if they play together as well. :)

Praising God for the thumb movement on Friday! Continuing to pray for you all, for your daily strength and endurance, and for restful sleep as well. Also praying that you'll find just the right van. Praise God that He knows our needs and provides for us in so many ways - from kitties to house additions to vans, which I'm certain He's got covered. Have a blessed Sunday!

Hey Connor,
Looks like you're doing prrrty good. Praising the Lord for that little thumb movement. We are praying that it will grow into a big thumb movement, and of course, much more. That would be the real cat's meow. Hope to see you up at church one of these Sunday mornings. Hang tough buddy.

Hi again,
I have no idea where that "amp" came from on the previous blog.

Hey, Eric!

I'm sure you feel you are letting us down when you don't post, because so many of us come here many times a day to see what's up...but I think I can speak for the crowd in telling you that we can only imagine how exhausted you must be, and it is okay if there are times you cannot post.

The picture today was awesome! Maybe when you are too exhausted to post you can just keep the pictures coming!!! You know the saying, "A picture is worth a thousand words." And the one today was just that...we can read the words in those smiling faces.

Everyone I know who reads the blog says that they love the pictures of your family, Connor with friends, the progress on the addition, etc.

It's amazing how God can use something as small as a kitten to bring happiness to a person. :)

So happy things are going well. I know I have not been commenting much, but I have been reading and praying for you everyday. It is just that when I read your blog, it is in between classes at school, so I cannot really gather my thoughts quick enough to write something. I promise I will try though, even if it is just reminding you that I am praying for the family! :)

We were in Eternal Treasures yesterday and out of everything in there, Brendan wanted a "Connor bracelet." :)

God bless you today!

Oh so cute! Kenzie and I are cat lovers (we have 3, feed strays and save our cans & use the money to buy food for shelters), so we totally understand the need for a snuggle kitty! Now I have to make your kitties some toys (along with the ones I'm making for the shelter kitties)!

And they look to be some of our favorite cat, Siamese! So cute! Glad that you got the kitty to snuggle, it means it's happy and you'll have a companion for life! Sometimes my kitties just know when to snuggle on my lap, and there is something so comforting about having them near!

As always,
Michawn and Kenzie

Connor, Eric, Joelle & Cherie -

Your grey-haired friend from Visalia here...we met that summer day in July at Fresno Community Hosp. as my 73 Year-old Mom was having surgery.

Cats are the greatest pets!!!

and it is quite Biblical to prefer cats since God does! ... Jesus is referred to as a "big" cat - the Lion of Judah! ... mmmm ever heard of the Bulldog of Judah nawh...(shhhh I know "hound of heaven" does appear somewhere)

But Cats, they're smart, independent and decide/choose to love you. Unlike, dogs who just want love (attention) in any form and from anybody.

So soak up the real affection of cats - its close to Godliness.

God is doing tremendous things for, in & thru all of you! We continue to pray for Him to be Glorified thru you!

The Newspaper article was amazing too!

and Connor when You are walking again I will give you a special tour of the Cat Haven - 26 exotic big cats on the way to Hume Lake!

Gordon, I think you should ask Brad where the "Amp" came from in your names! Well...maybe not! =0)

We're so excited for you Williamson, with all the great things happening! Connor's thumb movement is very encouraging! We're still praying for complete healing, and that is exciting to hear.

I'm sure the cats will also help! That will be a real comfort. And that's something about the Newspaper article. You never know, God works in mysterious ways! You may have "planted seeds!" That also is exciting! You may meet someone up in Heaven one day that came to the Lord through ConnorWatch or this newspaper article.

We are praying!!!
Love you in the Lord!!
Kim

As much as I enjoy reading what God is doing in all of your lives...you have so much more responsibilities with Connor being home... that I'm sure everyone would completely understand if you start posting on the blog less frequently. You also need your rest. Please don't feel obligated to post daily.
We will continue to pray. It's great to see Connor home. The kittens are adorable. I enjoyed the newspaper article also. It could be another avenue....

It has been a few days since I have had time to check in and I find wonderful things are happening every day. We continue to keep Connor and the family in our prayers and thoughts every day and know God is working through you all in amazing ways. Praise be to God and thank you for sharing your journey with us!

I've been following your story since shortly after it happened and I'm just so ecstatic about the work that God has already done. When I heard about the accident I was immediately drawn to Connor because I have my own little Connor - he's 2 1/2. I pray that you will all find the joy in every little improvement and that God gives you peace and rest. What an ordeal! I also pray that Connor continues to improve. He's an amazing kid, obviously. Blessings!
