Day 130 - October 23 - Midnight Oil, sort of

I fell asleep at dinner yesterday.

But since I don't have to be at work until 11AM this morning (as opposed to the 7:30 AM shift I worked M-W), I took the night duty so Cherie could finally sleep upstairs in a bed instead of a recliner. My alarm went off at 2:30 AM so I could empty tubes, refill reservoirs, check lungs and temperature and a few other bodily functions, and otherwise make sure Connor remains healthy. Right now he's restng comfortably now that I finished, and the clock reads 3:27. Now I'm trying to go back to sleep (something I've never been very good at) while I type this up. I thought y'all might be interested to know what we're up to!

I can always catch some Z's at dinnertime... 8-)

Praise for Connor being able to rest at home! Praise also for your ability as a family to care for him, even if it means falling asleep in your dinner once in awhile! :) Praying for your continued health and strength as you all press on in this journey!

Dear Lord God in heaven, please bless this family with the strength they need. Help them with the research necessary to set up all the resources they are entitled to and will need to function as a family.
In Jesus' name I pray. Amen

williamson family -
i have been following this blog since you posted on carecure. we have a good friend with a C5 injury. now 5 years post, his parents are still on the border of exhaustion even with several hours of pca care and a ton of friend / family support who fill in 20 or more hours per week to assist our buddy.

you must find some resources to help you out. home health aides, friends, pca, something. i'm only concerned about your and connor's health since an individual who is vent dependent requires so much more than our buddy.

please, explore all options.. you need help. and to those of you who read this blog, it's time to expedite your learning curve and volunteer and find volunteers -- this family needs help.

Oh Mr. Williamson... you make me laugh! I like how you write as if you're talking right to us.
It is ironic, funny, heart wrenching that you have to catch some z's during dinner. Thank you for a glimpse into your routine, what you do humbles me.

Keep on Mr. Williamson, Keep on going, the Lord will supply.

With love,
Monica

Eric,
Always good to meet a man that can multi-task! Sleep and eat at the same time along with take care of son at 2 AM and then post for all of us.
God will bless you and we pray just the right people will continue to walk into your lives. DO post what kind of help you need. There may be some that are not in the "inner circle" that would like to help, they just need to see your request on the site.

Much love MH Myers

We continue to have you all in our thoughts and prayers!! And we pray that you continue to feel the presence of the Lord with you every step of the way, and that you grow closer to Him and cling to Him. We continue to pray that the Lord would touch Connor's body and possibly heal him.

And congratulations to Alan and Joelle! How exciting!

In Christ!

Great article in the Morgan Hills Times referenced above by Anonyomous today at 8:04 a.m.!! God continues to work in mysterious ways through Connor and your family.

Meanwhile, we continue to pray for Connor's restoration of complete health, and for each of you - your physical strength, for your peace of mine, and for sweet, blessed rest from the daily routine.

In His Love,

MT

Well, I need to let y'all know somehow, and this seems to be the only way. For some reason, I am unable to post anything to the blog. I've actually posted four different posts between yesterday and today, but none of them are showing up. My technical experts (OK, Brad...) are diligently working on the problem. In the meantime, thank you for your prayers. I'll get the blog going again as soon as I can.

Eric
