Day 128 - October 21 - Congrats from Connor
Just a quick post that doesn't really have much to do with ConnorWatch, except that the boy feels a connection. He wanted me to post quickly tonight to tell Mike Singletary "Congratulations" on the head coaching job. For those that didn't catch the story, Mr. Singletary became the new head coach of the San Francisco 49ers today.
Connor and I haven't really been Niner fans in the past, Mike - but we'll be watching from now on! Good luck!

Very,very cool.
Ok, I am not a sports fan (but I do know what an American football is). What connection does Connor feel with Mike S ? (Other than being handsome and cool ?)
Hi, I think I can answer that last question, somewhat. Early on in his journey, Connor rec'd an email on the blog from Kim Singletary, saying that she and her husband were praying for Connor. As any young Christian man would be, he was greatly encouraged, and honored. Then someone at Hume Lake who was praying for Connor heard the story, later on. He was moved to generously donate a signed football with a scripture verse, by Mike. This gentlman remains anonymous. Shortly before Connor was released from Valley Hospital, Kim and Mike and their friends and children came, unexpectedly to visit Connor. Mr. Singletary prayed with and encouraged Connor that day. What wonderful people, to come alongside and give of their time, as many others have done. Praise God for his special people. You bless us beyond measure, ALL of you.

WOW!!! The 49ers got it right -- hmmmm... do ya think the Lord might have had something to do with that selection?
Praying for you all today, trusting that God's presence will surround you.
Thank you, Connor!! We sure need your prayers so that God will be glorified in everything that Mike does and says both on and off the field. Still believing for your total recovery....
Mike and Kim Singletary
Singletary's you will be blessed in this new endeavour because you are not selfish people and give your time, love and comfort to someone in need. God bless you and your family....GO 49ERS!
I lived in Waco, Texas, when Mike Singletary played football at Baylor University. Even tho I do not personally know Mike and Kim, I have sort of kept up with them over the years and they are some of the finest people in the world. What special people they are to take time to offer support to Conner and your family.
