Day 124 - October 17 - I am so impressed
I am so impressed today. Let me tell you what I'm impressed by -
I'm really impressed by -
- how steadfast my wife is during this upheaval. She's a rock.
- how faithful my friends are to stand by us.
- how generous the body of Christ has been to us.
- how faithfully God provides to meet our needs, even when we fail to trust Him.
- how weak I am in my faith, even though I've witnessed God's provision time and time again. OK, that's not "impressed" - maybe "dismayed" is a better word for that one.
I am extremely impressed, more than anything else, by the strength Connor shows. He tries to calm us when we're stressed by the things going on. He tries to help us adjust, when it should be the other way around. He really does make me proud to be his Pop.

Is there a mailing address that we can now use? I would love to encourage him with some mail!
I'm betting for Connor right now, shy of having his functioning body again, being at home is the next best thing. I can't imagine what it must be like for everyone else, but I can picture Connor's heart smiling just to be home finally. And with his family--rock solid as always--right by his side. Never feeling sorry for themselves about how this event has changed their lives, but looking every day at Connor and wondering what they can do to help him today. I will forever admire the strength and perserverance each of you show every day and I am proud to be your friend.

Hi Cherie,
Please let us know when a "good" time to stop by and visit is :)
Love to you all!
I am so happy for all of you that Connor is home..
Now that Connor is home you can all begin to 'adjust' to the new circumstances in your life.
Some days will be difficult, some 'easy', some frightening. Even with ups and downs, very day will be an improvement as you move forward.
You are all under the same roof, a family together at HOME.
Thank you LORD for bring the Williamson Family this far.
GOD bless and good night.
On this end it is such a thrill to ready that Connor is back in his own home with his own loving family beside him. That in itself is truly a blessing and a major step forward in this whole process.
I realize the importance of keeping Eric and Cherie and Joelle lifted up in prayer as you all take care of Connor and adjust to "the new normal."
I personally am learning to adjust to "the new normal" in a completely different situation than yours but am reminded how much I need to lean on God for assistance.
You definitely have a lot of prayer partners and we will keep it up....lifting you all up.
I hope you have a blessed weekend. How great will it be when Connor is able to go to church! Thanks for keeping us all posted.
With love in Christ,
Claudia in Norco
Just thinking and praying for you all in these new circumstances.

Welcome home to Connor! I'm sure he and everyone else are thrilled to have him home. I know the family is extremely overwhelmed and will need every ounce of support, especially over the next few months. I am a 49-year-old C4-5 quadriplegic as a result a diving accident at the age of 15. I am now employed full time as the manager of the IHSS Public Authority in Sonoma County and leading an active, fulfilling, and independent life. I'd encourage Connor and the family to reach out to your local community resources to assist with getting needed services and support. I think you are in Santa Clara County. Below is a link to the Santa Clara IHSS Public Authority. Their telephone number is 408-350-3206. The Director's name is Mary Tinker and I'm sure she and her staff can provide helpful information. Please fell free to ask for Mary directly and use my name as a referral. Once Connor qualifies to receive SSI, he will also be eligible to receive IHSS, which will provide funding to assist with his care needs. A family member can be designated as his caregiver and receive compensation or you may hire a caregiver to come in and provide some of the care needs to allow for needed relief from doing it all. The IHSS Public Authority can provide referrals of potential caregivers. Since Connor is 18, he should be eligible to apply for SSI as an adult without his parent's income and resources counting against him. In order for Connor to qualify for SSI, you'll need to make sure that he doesn't have resources (savings, trusts, bonds, etc.) of $2000 or more in his own name or connected to him in a way. If a trust has been established for Connor, then you'll need to find an attorney in your area who specializes in special needs trusts. If the family needs any referrals or would like to talk to me about anything related to what they are going through during these difficult times, please feel free to call me. I've been through most all of it and can share my knowledge, resources, and support.
Best regards,
Mike Humphrey

Mike Humphrey's thank you! From a family member of Connor to you...I appreciate your willingness to step up and lend a hand. May God richly bless you!
while it is certainly not the life that anyone would have chosen, it is indeed A LIFE...a life of God's choosing.
The chrisitan faith means that we live life to its fullest..whatever that means. The Connor Family IS living this very public life and showing true christianity..true faith in our God.
I amazed by you....I am amazed by you...and Jesus is amazed and pleased by you.
