Day 114 - October 7 - A Special Thanks

Today a new phase of life began for us - the "construction phase". A number of friends, family members, and acquaintances have undertaken to design and build an addition to our home so Connor can have a comfortable and safe place on our first floor, and they broke ground this morning on this endeavor. I wanted to publicly thank these people, whose names I'm not going to mention right now, for their willingness to step out on faith to come alongside us in this. These men and women have purposed to ensure that the boy is provided for at our home, and they are going WAAAY beyond the call of duty (but they won't listen to me when I tell them that!).

What they are doing is building a small addition onto the side of our house - an addition that will have access to both the front and back yards, a room big enough for Connor and all the equipment, and a bathroom. It will be connected directly to our living spaces, visible from the kitchen, and will allow him to be in company with us while we are able to be there for him.

So I wanted to publicly thank these folks - the ones who came up with the idea; the ones who planned and reviewed and approved the plans; the ones doing the construction; the many folks who are working feverishly to help us with the funds to pay for it; and the ones who are helping with materials - you are each being the hands and feet of God to us, and we are grateful. Thank you each so much.

Eric (for all four of us)

Praise the Lord for raising up the saints that desire to serve your family in many different capacities. It will be so wonderful for Connor to go back to his home, the things that he is familiar with, amidst the people that love him the most here on earth. What a blessing!

Eric & Cherie, How mighty is our GOD! What a true blessing. I know some of the people that are stepping up and they truly have hearts of gold. They are doing what the Lord commands. You are truly blessed to have them come to your aid. I wish I were geographically closer to be there to help. I can in other ways though.
Praying, always,
Carolyn Brogan

My heart is smiling again, it happens often through this blog :)

While I was praying yesterday and reading my Bible I was meditating on what we talked about how all the parts of the body were important not one more than another I was referring to all those who are stepping up too the plate to help you then in a Holy Spirit moment I realized the same truth fits with our Boy Connor and began crying out to the Lord that He said it, that all parts were important and that Connor needed all his parts working they are all important! So Lord again please as your Word talks about many parts and all being important we ask that as we all reach out and touch your garment that your power would be released into Connor's body and all his parts would function and that he would take up his mat and walk, in Jesus name we pray, Amen!

Lord bless and keep you all today and give special strength and endurance and perfect weather to the construction crew as they do everything as unto the Lord, God be with you all and your families.

Praise the Lord. Personally I think this is much more exciting than if Extreme Makeover was doing this. What a great testimony to the world around you. God's family doing what God's family is suppose to be doing, not depending on the world to do our job, but stepping in and lifting up God's children.

Those of us who are faraway really don't know what to do. We can pray and we can give financially if that is needed. I'm sure that Eric isn't going to get on here and say, "Hey, we need x amount of dollars." Maybe one of the his brothers will :) On the other hand if all the financial needs have been met then our funds are better off somewhere else. Does that make sense?

I'll be praying for a blessing for all of you that are stepping in and giving of your time and resources. You can't begin to imagine what a blessing (humbling too) it is for a family when people show God's love in such a mighty way. When we lost our son a church close to us, not even our church, heard that we had been getting ready to reroof our house. They took an offering, paid for the roof, sent the workers, and even gave us the left over money. What an awesome blessing. I'm tearing up just thinking about it. God's people doing God's work. Praise God.

How pleased the Lord must be to see this happening! When it is no longer needed for Connor's purposes, I can imagine it being a prayer room where family members and friends can come to praise God for His mighty works, His goodness, His lovingkindness and mercy!

Hi Williamson Family~

Thank you so much for sharing the pictures of Joelle's birthday...happy belated birthday...and for the construction pics.

Ya'll are so blessed to have a church family that is willing to rally behind ya'll. What a blessing...and what would we do without each other?

I'm reminded of:
* John 13:35 NIV

By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another."

Continuing to pray for ya'll here in Texas!

WOW! Praise to God for raising up people who can and would do this! And thank you to all you saints who have moved beyond willingness to love in action. What a beautiful thing!

After setting an example of humility and service by washing the feet of his disciples, Jesus said:

"A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another." John 13:34-35

Friends, your gifts of service and sacrifice have an impact on others. Thank you for blessing all of us in this way.

I just took a look at Joelle's birthday pictures, and the house remodeling project. Great pictures!! Joelle is so pretty and we love Connor's beard. Nice party hats too!

The remodeling project looks like it's "full steam ahead" and your home will soon be perfect for all of you. How wonderful for all the people involved to use their talents and their love in such a way as this. Surely our God is pleased.

And we are continuing to pray those nasty pseudamona germs are gone, or at least under good control.

In His Love,

MT
