Day 108 - October 1 - Connor Out Of Surgery
Eric called, Connor is safely out of surgery and currently in recovery. The surgery itself was not successful, as they were not able to implant the diaphragmatic pace maker. Connor's diaphragm does not appear to be functioning, contrary to what had previously been identified.
When the medical staff can't explain why things are the way they are, expect that God is up to something big. Pray for Connor and family, especially Eric. It is easy to be disappointed and discouraged when your hopes are not fulfilled. Pray for strength for all to 'belly up' and honor the God that is walking them through this.

God is good - all the time. He will see you through this, Connor! He has promised to never leave nor forsake you, and that even the forces of darkness cannot separate you from His love. He holds you fast even when you can't hold tight to Him - and His Holy Spirit prays with groaning which cannot be uttered when words fail you.
Praying....
I don't know what to say. I'm so sad that things didn't go as planned. If only we could see the whole picture instead of just a very small piece. My head knows that God has a purpose, but my heart sure doesn't understand.
I know that this is Connor's site, but I got a phone call this morning from one of my friend's friends in Lakeview, OR and she had a friend who lost a child this week to a drowning accident. Since there are so many Christians reading this could you all be praying for Shawn and Megan to be comforted in the loss of little Jackson? I hope I'm not out of line in asking that on this site. Believe me it isn't stopping my prayers going up for Connor.
Bless you all.
Voice of Truth
Casting Crowns
Oh what I would do to have
The kind of faith it takes
To climb out of this boat I'm in
Onto the crashing waves
To step out of my comfort zone
Into the realm of the unknown where Jesus is
And He's holding out His hand.
But the waves are calling out my name
And they laugh at me
Reminding me of all the times I've tried before and failed.
The waves they keep on telling me
Time and time again, "Boy, you'll never win! You'll never win!"
CHORUS
But the Voice of Truth tells me a different story.
The Voice of Truth says, "Do not be afraid!"
The Voice of Truth says, "This is for My Glory."
Out of all the voices calling out to me
I will choose to listen and believe the Voice of Truth.
Oh what I would do to have the kind of strength it takes to stand before a giant with just a sling and a stone.
Surrounded by the sound of a thousand warriors shaking in their armor wishing they'd have had the strength to stand.
But the giant's calling out my name and he laughs at me,
Reminding me of all the times I've tried before and failed.
The giant keeps on telling me time and time again, "Boy, you'll never win! You'll never win!"
CHORUS
But the Voice of Truth tells me a different story.
The Voice of Truth says, "Do not be afraid."
The Voice of Truth says, "This is for my glory."
Out of all the voices calling out to me
I will choose to listen and believe the Voice of Truth.
But the stone was just the right size to put the giant on the ground.
And the waves they don't seem so high from on top of them lookin' down.
I will soar with eagles when I stop and lilsten to the sound of Jesus singing over me.
CHORUS
I will choose to listen and believe the VOICE OF TRUTH.
Oh dear Jesus, we are so sad and disappointed. Help us to listen to your Voice of Truth in our disappointment. I pray especially for Connor as he wakes up and becomes aware of the situation. Help Connor, Eric, Cherie, Joelle, grandmas and grandpas trust in you and only listen to your Voice, not that of the evil one, who wants to wreck this family. Be glorified God our Father. Oh Holy Spirit, fill Connor's room and heart with your comfort and peace. Amen.
Connor, you are God's precious child. He does have a plan and a future for you, in which you can and will glorify Him. Listen to the Voice of Truth, not the father of lies. We are all carrying you in our hearts.

A beautiful (and convicting) song, and a lovely prayer, Lisa!
Ecclesiastes 4:9 Two are better than one,
Because they have a good reward for their labor.
10 For if they fall, one will lift up his companion.
But woe to him who is alone when he falls,
For he has no one to help him up.
11 Again, if two lie down together, they will keep warm;
But how can one be warm alone?
12 Though one may be overpowered by another, two can withstand him.
And a threefold cord is not quickly broken. (NKJV)
If a cord of just three strands is not quickly broken, just think of the massive rope that God has woven out of all of us coming along side you, Connor! You are nowhere near to being alone, even late at night - many people all around the world are probably praying for you even at that very moment...
Thanks for the update - not sure what to say or how to feel about how the surgery turned out, other than to trust that God is in control. I prayed that the surgeon would have wisdom, and am trusting that he made the best decision for Connor, even though it wasn't the outcome that was expected or hoped for. I know it's frustrating when things can't be medically explained...praying for your continued trust in God. His way are not our ways, and even when we can't see it, we know that He has it all in His perfect plan.

....Human words seem to fall short in times such as these...but God's word never does...
Psalms 27:13-14, "I am still confident of this: I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord."
We still have Connor, he still has all of you and all of us, and we ALL have God. Connor has come far since this whole thing started. And I have already seen much "goodness of the Lord" thru Connor and all of you. I know you didn't ask for this, but you've all become an example to the world. Be strong, take heart, wait.... and hold fast...for the Lord.
with love and prayer, F. Buxton
This is to Charlene,
YES, we will hold this dear family up in prayer.
We are called to pray for one another, bare one another's burdens.
This is a terrible loss. I am sure the Williamson Family would want us to pray - it will never 'take' from Connor.
We are all family in CHRIST.
I thank you for sharing and allowing me to help this mother and father through prayer.
Charlene,
God fills us with His love: "We love because He first loved us." That's what makes it possible to care for and sympathize with people we've never even met. We're all family here and we love each other because God loves us and binds us together. The great thing about love is that you can give it all away and still have a full tank. Praying for your friends, Shawn and Megan, won't make a dent in our tanks. I will remember them in prayer as I continue to lift Connor up.
As for Connor, I don't understand how before surgery the doctor said his diaphragm should be strong, but then in surgery finds out it's not working. I don't understand how Connor for two months now has been pulling breaths on his own, sometimes twice as much as the setting, without his diaphragm working to some degree. I'm simply confounded. It's like Charlene said, "If only we could see the whole picture instead of just a very small piece." Like a puzzle. Those little single pieces make no sense until you get them into the context of the whole picture. I will trust that God has a beautiful picture in mind, but for now, I'm just going to stare at this little piece and wonder how it fits.
Praying without ceasing,
Jenann
Jenann,
Thanks for your prayers. I felt kind of guilty breaking in on Connor's special page, but what better place than where a pile of Christians are praying.
