Day 107 - September 30 - Granny's Perspective

I read this entry in the Guestbook from Connor's grandmother on the events of yesterday. It is both a reminder and an encouragement that when we seek evidence of God at work, we will find it everywhere.

So with apologies to Grannyp for promoting her to the blog without her knowledge, here it is.

Just returned home from the hospital. Connor had a full day with lots of great young friends, that made him laugh, and he made them laugh with his antics. We followed him around the grounds with his sip and puff, he is really good at driving that thing. Then we played apples to apples as part of his therapy with another patient. They hold the card with a stick with pinchers, using their mouth. Grannyp won! He did well. The Dr. flew in from Iceland this p.m. and met Connor. He said Connor is in great shape physically, and noted that should apply to his diaphragm as well, so we all were encouraged. He has done 50 surgeries, and 49 are off the ventilator! Praise God. So please pray early tomorrow. 7 a.m. he will be taken into surgery. - Grannyp (Sherri Patterson)
Celebrate with us in this news, even as Connor is in surgery.

Loving you and praying with you, GrannyP and family.

My Bible study group had a pot luck yesterday and of course when we held hands to pray this group of beautiful sisters in the Lord lifted Connor up to the Lord. I don't even have to mention anymore, Connor, everyone I know and none of us knows you personally but we feel as though we do, they are so eager to hear how you are and what your needs are this family of God continues to amaze me, Thank you Lord! and Thank you Connor! Eric and family, we down here in Downey will continue at your side holding up your arms towards Heaven while singing How Great Is Our God knowing He loves us and desires the very best for each of His kids.
Loving you in Downey

Dear Connor and family, we are in prayer for your surgery this morning. Praying that all goes well, and that it is a great success!

We don't know how long the surgery takes or how long you will be in recovery; but God knows and He holds your hand and guides the hands of the surgeon. Praise God -- He is the Great Physician!!

We await the good news about your surgery.

In His Love,

MT
