Day 96 - September 19 - 1st floor rehab
Connor spent much of his day visiting with us, watching movies between his physical therapy and his occupational therapy. This afternoon, we got word that the insurance company gave us a verbal approval, but when it came time for written approval there's now some hiccups. That sounds more like the insurance company I've come to know and love! The hospital caseworkers are working a number of angles to address this, and we figure that God will provide if we're supposed to do this. So we're not too worried about it.
The big news came a bit later, when we found out that we were moving downstairs to the rehab unit. We've now moved to a room on the first floor, still in isolation, and trying to adjust to the next reality. Connor is pretty nervous about this new environment, we are trying to get situated, so we're all a bit on edge.
Lord, we need You. We need Your intervention. We need Your provision.
That's our word for tomorrow, 9/20/08 - "provider".

GOD is Power!
"PERFECT"
God is perfect. His plan is perfect, his will is perfect and his love is perfect. If we combine that with Connor's word, then we know that God is the "perfect provider".
Heavenly Father, please help Connor and his family to rest in the assurance that you will provide for their every need.
In His Love,
Lark
God is your "Protection!"
He loves you and we continue to pray for you all! In Him! Kim
He is patient (he waited a long time for me!)
Praise Worthy!
Praying for you today!
The Lord is Precious to me!
I love that hymn, Precious Lord Take My Hand...
The first verse is:
"Precious Lord, take my hand, Lead me on, help me stand; I am tired, I am weak, I am worn;
Thru the storm, thru the night, Lead me on to the light, Take my hand Precious Lord, lead me home."
As you continue to make changes, I am praying for the Lord to give you a peace & calmness, thru each '
transition. God is good all the time.
Have a blessed weekend!

Eric, I love it when your sense of humor still shines through. My heart is lifted when I see a glimmer of merriment in yours.
"Provider", what a great attribute indeed. Boy did He provide, boy does He provide, boy WILL HE provide... yes, in deedy.
Have you had a chance to read that book I mentioned earlier, "The Shack". I highly recommend it. God is broken up in to all three parts of the trinity in this book in a very easy to understand way. God, the Father, is referred to as "PAPA". The closeness, kindness, loving, all-knowing, all understanding, author of life person of the Father is wrapped up in every warm, yet honorable and trusting conception in the name, "PAPA".
PAPA cares. PAPA knows. PAPA is in control. PAPA is LOVE.
Expecting great things!

Our Lord God is always Present
Psalm 34:18-19
18) The Lord is close to the brokenhearted; He rescues those whose spirits are crushed.
19) The righteous person faces many troubles, but the Lord comes to the rescue each time.
Oh Praise Him for He is worthy of our highest Praise!
Praying for you Connor, and looking forward to a weekend full of praise reports, may the Lord's presence bring you perfect peace.
In you presence Lord the mountains melt like wax, another good song and another promise that He will move those mountains :)
Praying in Downey
God is so awesome, after I went through the Bible searching for a post for P I came up with presence or present so I commented then went on to read my e-mail devotions for this morning and the first one I came to was this
Have you known the comfort of God's presence?
God is our refuge and strength, always ready to help in times of trouble.… Be silent, and know that I am God! I will be honored by every nation. I will be honored throughout the world. The Lord Almighty is here among us; the God of Israel is our fortress.
Psalm 46:1,10-11 NLT
There is a place of quiet rest near to the heart of God, A place where sin cannot molest, near to the heart of God.
O Jesus, blest Redeemer, sent from the heart of God, Hold us who wait before Thee near to the heart of God.
There is a place of full release near to the heart of God, A place where all is joy and peace, near to the heart of God.
Cleland Boyd McAfee
Finding comfort in God's presence
Where do you turn when unexpected tragedy strikes? Cleland McAfee, a Prebyterian minister in Chicago, had just received word that his brother and sister-in-law had lost both of their daughters to diptheria within twenty-four hours. Grief-striken, McAfee couldn't think of deep theological issues; he could only think of verses in the book of Psalms that brought comfort and rest to those who sought refuge in the Lord. As he meditated on God's Word, he wrote the words and music to this simple hymn, "Near to the Heart of God."
I love how God works :)
the lord is PRESENT! He is with you all. Love you Cherie miss you tuns. You are all in my heart and prayers. Hope to come up to visit again soon. give me a ring when you can...xxoo...Sara
He is purposeful. We do not always understand His ways, but we do know that His purpose is to see redemption come to the greatest possible number of people on earth. The means He uses, the circumstances he orchstrates are often mysterious to us, but we can trust Him to work out that purpose.
When I read, "...we figure that God will provide if we're supposed to do this. So we're not to worried about it," I said out loud, "I love this family!" You are so right friends - God is our provider and He is absolutely, 100% in control!
OUR GOD IS AN AWESOME GOD
HE REIGNS FROM HEAVEN ABOVE
WITH WISDOM, POWER, AND LOVE
OUR GOD IS AN AWESOME GOD
Thank you so much for your faith and perseverance - God is truly with you.
May the Lord bless you indeed!

Planner ~ He has a Perfect Plan for you!
Someone mentioned the book "The Shack". At first I thought it was true and when I found out it wasn't, I was a little disappointed. Although it is a fiction book, I really enjoyed it and I love the author's interpretion of The Father, Son and the Holy Spirit. When tragegy strikes, it gives you a view of why God may have let something bad happen to good people. I too, highly recommend it.

btw, I hate to copy but God is PERFECT!
God is peace! A peace that goes beyond our understanding and thats what I'm praying that He'll surround you all with.
YAY!!!!!!! I AM SO OVERJOYED!
Okay the Runnels family P word's perfect, patient, passionate, protector, Prince of Peace, planner, powerful.
Have a great weekend!!
Speaking of Rich Mullins(Awesome God which Matt quoted)I have been thinking of one of my favorites:
Hold me, Jesus
'Cause I'm shaking like a leaf
You have been king of my glory
Won't you be my prince of peace?
So that's my contribution for P, even though others have already used it: prince of peace
Michele
I've always been a little puzzled by the use of this word in the Bible, so this is a great opportunity to clarify its meaning in my mind: God is our PORTION.
Psalm 73:26 My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the Rock and firm Strength of my heart and my Portion forever. (NKJV)
Psalm 119:57 You are my portion, O Lord; I have promised to keep Your words. (NKJV)
Psalm 142:5 I cried to You, O Lord; I said, You are my refuge, my portion in the land of the living. (NKJV)
There are other Hebrew words which are translated "portion" which clearly mean "inheritance", as well as other things - but the Psalmists' use of the word (and its use in sermons) has always left me wondering exactly what the user of the word intended.
So I looked it up (and the meaning in the above verses goes well with the "inheritance" word which is similarly translated): "portion" here means a spiritual "possesion" or blessing. We do not receive the full "benefit", if you will, of our co-inheritor status with Christ while we are here on earth - but we believers have the privilege of enjoying many, many blessings through the possession of our relationship with God through Christ Jesus as applied to our hearts by the Holy Spirit.
