Day 90 - September 13 - Ending our day
Connor and I spent the evening talking together, going over your "I" offerings. Thank you for helping us praise God in our storm. Cherié is still sick, but seems to be getting a little better with the medications.
Connor is really battling every negative emotion tonight. Please - I can't beg you enough - be lifting him up. I have no strength to look on him in such suffering, and I can't even begin to imagine how much more so it weighs on him. He needs your prayers so desperately.
Tomorrow is "J". I'm pretty sure it's cheating, because it's a name rather than an attribute, but we're going with "Jehovah Rapha" - the God who heals".

Jealous
Exodus 20:5-6 - You shall not bow down to them or serve them, for I the LORD your God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children to the third and the fourth generation of those who hate me, 6 but showing steadfast love to thousands of those who love me and keep my commandments.
ESV
Deuteronomy 4:24 - For the LORD your God is a consuming fire, a jealous God.

Praying to the ONE AND ONLY GOD on your behalf every day.

Dearest Connor,
I don't really know what to say, but here is my prayer for you.
Dearest Jesus,
Please hold Connor closer than you ever have before. I know you love him, but please remind him again just how much you do. He needs more grace today Lord. Please, oh please give this precious child of yours more grace Lord. Thank you for his life. Thank you for all he has taught me. Thank you that you are alive and well and that you are still moving in his life. Thank you that you are not finished with him yet. Thank you that You still have big plans for his life. Reveal yourself to him so that he understands you better today Lord. Your Word says that God is love. God is love. Reveal your love to him. Remind him Who you are. Help him understand what he needs to understand. Restore his soul. Guide and protect his family. Give them all, more of your peace. Engulf them in it. We praise you because you are God. We praise you because you are the one and only true God and we can trust you. Thank you for what you are doing in Connor's life Lord. Help him God. He doesn't know me Lord, but I love him so much. Thank you for his life. Thank you so much for Connor Williamson's life! Bless him Lord! Shine your face upon him. In Jesus Name, Amen
Love in Christ,
Sheila
Jehovah-jireh - the LORD will provide. (Can I cheat too, Eric?)
After God provided the ram to substitute for Isaac and stopped Abraham even as he was raising the knife to sacrifice his son, we find this verse:
Genesis 22:14 And Abraham called the name of the place, The-LORD-Will-Provide; as it is said to this day, “In the Mount of the LORD it shall be provided.” (NKJV)
Keep calling to Him - keep casting your cares... He does care for you, even though it's hard to see it sometimes. And, He will provide - He is the God who provides, Whose grace is sufficient for you - Jehovah-jireh!
Well...since we're cheating... ;)
JEHOVAH NISSI - The Lord is my Banner
The Amalekites attacked the Israelites at Rephidim. Moses sent Joshua to fight them while he, Aaron and Hur went to the top of a hill. As long as Moses held his hands up, the Israelites prevailed. When his hands fell, the Amalekites prevailed. So when weariness, fatigue and exhaustion beset Moses, Aaron and Hur held his hands up - one on either side of him, so his hands remained steady until sunset. And so Joshua vanquished the enemy.
"Then the LORD said to Moses, 'Write this on a scroll as something to be remembered and make sure that Joshua hears it, because I will completely blot out the memory of Amalek from under heaven.' Moses built an altar and called it, 'The LORD is my Banner.' He said, 'For hands were lifted up to the throne of the LORD. The LORD will be at war against the Amalekites from generation to generation.'" Ex. 17: 8-15
How can the LORD be at war with the Amalekites in subsequent generations if He completely blotted out the memory of Amalek from under heaven? Could it be that Amalek represents the ultimate enemy, Satan, who has actively warred against God's people in all generations? I think perhaps so.
And what do we know about God when we're in the midst of any battle, be it finances, anxiety, addiction, injustice, loneliness, depression, hopelessness, etc.? HE is our VICTORY, even when we can't see the end or the outcome. We raise our hands to the LORD...and when we tire, our friends come alongside us and raise them for us until we're refreshed and can carry on. And God is faithful. The victory is His because the battle belongs to Him...and He cannot be vanquished. So, as they did in times of old, when the battle is over, you get to tear down your enemy's flag (standard...banner), and replace it with your own.
JEHOVAH NISSI is the LORD who has secured the victory.
I love this song...
In heavenly armor we'll enter the land
The battle belongs to the Lord
No weapon that's fashioned against us will stand
The battle belongs to the Lord
And we sing glory, honor, power and strength to the Lord
We sing glory, honor, power and strength to the Lord!
When the power of darkness comes in like a flood
The battle belongs to the Lord
He's raised up a standard, the power of His blood
The battle belongs to the Lord
And we sing glory, honor, power and strength to the Lord
We sing glory, honor, power and strength to the Lord!
When your enemy pressed in hard do not fear
The battle belongs to the Lord
Take courage, my friend, your redemption is near
The battle belongs to the Lord
And we sing glory, honor, power and strength to the Lord
We sing glory, honor, power and strength to the Lord!
I continue to pray for God's mercy on Connor, for complete restoration of physical function. And until the day He grants this request, I will also pray that Connor holds fast to his LORD, trusting in Him alone to be his all-sufficiency. Lastly I pray that God would continue to call the saints around the globe to stand with you, pray with you, hold your hands up when you grow tired, and praise God for the victory.
Love in Christ,
Jenann
P.S. Thank you Sally Witmer for recently recalling to my mind the account of Moses and his friends. :)
He is Jehovah Shalom, the God of peace.
I am praying for the peace that passes all understanding for Connor & the family.
"Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. I don't give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be trouble & do not be afraid." John 14:27
Have a blessed Sunday!

I'll cheat too and add:
Jehovah Shammah _ The Lord is there
Lifting up Connor in a special way.
As I was getting ready for church this morning, my thoughts went to Connor. I thought about how "hopeless" it much feel for an eighteen year old boy in this situation.
I so wish I had comforting words for him at this time. Brendan and I pray for him every night, and will not stop.
Everyone took my "J" words today. I need to get on here sooner. :)
Joy, Just, Jazzy, Jehovah!!!
Joyful healing of Connor's spirits and joyful healing of Connor's body, we ask these things In Jesus name,
Amen

Connor~
Cry out to Jesus! There really is not a day that goes by that we don't think of you, pray for you! We share your story with someone several times a week and know that these people are praying for you as well.
I haven't shared many things prior to this moment for several reasons. Even when we were all kinda "runnin" together. But I feel the Lord compeling me to at this time to share some of our personal experiences. Really it is for all of you.
Prior to coming to California we spend a significant amount of our summer doing "Joni and Friends Family Retreats". I'm sure yall have heard of this ministry. I have a very close friend who has a daughter with RETTS and have supported/encouraged and ministered to their family for years. In fact, they are the ones who introduced us to J&F's, here in Dallas, TX.
I don't have to tell you what tough shoes you and your family are in right now, I can only whole heartedly agree with yall. "Your walking in tough shoes". And frankly, my heart breaks for yall and your situation. I can not imagine the pain each of you are experiencing. We have only witnessed it from the outside looking in and tried to be as much a comfort as possible. We worked with families each summer, who were in "desperate" situations, who had family members facing some very difficult challanges, offering much needed respite to parents, caregivers, and siblings.
I guess what I'm trying to say is: if you have not already done so. Contact Joni and Friends. There home base is right there in California. They have branches all over the country. I just know that they could offer some comfort as yall work through all the emotions that you can surely expect to have during this time.
Please know that we have been and will continue to pray for a complete healing and for some feeling to return in your body, also remember The Garden of
Gathsemane, and Jesus' prayer.
I have had to pray that pray many times. Certainly, not from your perspective, but from the perspective that I give God all my emotions and frustrations. Even at times when I questioned His goodness in my life, we have all witnessed that at times with you Eric and your willingness to be real and vulnerable. Don't hesitate to offer that stuff to God as many times as yall need to.
Boy, I don't know if anything I have said has made any sense at all or helped you? I just wanted yall to know how sad it makes my heart to hear of your trials this hour. And how I so wish, along with hundreds possible thousands others that we could take it all away and fix it. I shake my head in disbelief as I flashback to those families that we met and imagine yall going through this, it is hard to fathom.
Just know that we love you, and pray for Gods best for you, however that looks. We are pilgrims on this journey, for some it is a Christian journey. And if you have walked it for any length of time at all in a serious surrender to Jesus, you have found it to require His Hand. Hang in there, don't listen to the enemy who wants to steal, kill, and destroy all that we have in Christ. But, trust Jesus, cry out to Jesus, we all need Jesus. And look for His hand and His grace in the most unexpected, amazing ways that you never dreamed possible.
We are pulling for you in the powerful name of Jesus!
Justifier
Romans 3:23-26 "...for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified by His grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, whom God put forward as a propitiation by His blood, to be received by faith. This was to show God’s righteousness, because in His divine forbearance He had passed over former sins. It was to show His righteousness at the present time, so that He might be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus."
We weren't able to post our "I" words yesterday, but we are thankful that our God is:
Intelligent (Caleb's word) Immeasurable (family word)
Connor, I am praying that you will have a sense of peace. I know that is so much easier to type than to accomplish. As you reflect on all of these attributes of God, that is my prayer for you.
You are loved.
Sherri
