Day 88 - September 11 - Health Update
A few items - first, we've gotten what I think is the straight scoop about the superbugs. We were told today that Connor has been cleared from the pseudamonas, which is a good thing. We are also told that the mystery mention of the other superbug, which I think is called VRE, can't be located in the records after all. I don't know how that happens - mistake or miracle, I'll take it either way. So they have decided it isn't an issue after all. Finally, we were told today that they haven't found MRSA in Connor since he's been here, so once he ends his latest antibiotic run tomorrow, he will get a couple of tests to clear him from the MRSA, and we're hoping he will be out of isolation by Monday or Tuesday. There's a praise for you!
Someone mentioned that Connor was able to leave his room despite being in isolation, which must mean good things. Actually, they still take isolation precautions while he's outside - he has to wear a yellow gown. Don't ask.
Cherié's bronchitis/whatever is worse today, adding a sore throat and swollen glands to the mix. She is frustrated that she is sick just when she needs to be at her healthiest. Please continue to lift her up.
Cherié and I spoke at length with a fellow who received the diaphragm pacer five years ago. It was very informative and encouraging. Please be praying for us tonight and tomorrow, as Connor and we will be making our decision (most likely) tomorrow.
Speaking of tomorrow, it's "H". Connor gets to go first again -
God is our Healer.

har·mo·ni·ous
–adjective
1. marked by agreement in feeling, attitude, or action: a harmonious group.
2. forming a pleasingly consistent whole; congruous: harmonious colors.
3. pleasant to the ear; tuneful; melodious.
We are musical so I like this word to describe God.
I pray tomorrow you are blessed with some more small blessings from God, I am sure big ones are acceptable too.
The Derendinger Family
This is a HUGE blessing (an "H" word!) that Connor may be free of the super bugs and MRSA!!!!
Thank you, Lord, for another small step.
HOPE
HOLY (sacred, set apart)
Isaiah 6:1 In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord sitting on a throne, high and lifted up, and the train of His robe filled the temple. 2 Above it stood seraphim; each one had six wings: with two he covered his face, with two he covered his feet, and with two he flew. 3 And one cried to another and said: “Holy, holy, holy is the LORD of hosts; The whole earth is full of His glory!” (NKJV)
Repetition is significant in the Bible - anything repeated even once is *important!* Anything repeated twice, as we see here (by angels, no less!), is *IMPORTANT!!*
God is HOLY! Because of this fact, we can have absolute confidence in His promises:
Hebrews 6:16 For men swear by one greater than themselves, and with them an oath given as confirmation is an end of every dispute. 17 In the same way God, desiring even more to show to the heirs of the promise the unchangeableness of His purpose, interposed with an oath, 18 so that by two unchangeable things in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have taken refuge would have strong encouragement to take hold of the hope set before us. 19 This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, a hope both sure and steadfast and one which enters within the veil, 20 where Jesus has entered as a forerunner for us, having become a high priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek. (NAS, emphasis added)
My hero.
He is our "Helper".
Especially when we have big decisions to make.
I pray that you would feel Him "helping" you as you enter into a time of making decisions.
Ohhhh, that is such good news about Connor and the lack of infections! Praise God who is good all the time!
Cherie, I'm praying for you that you'd be rid of the bronchitis. Slow down...get some rest...do what you have to do to get healthy. How can I help you? Name it, I'm there.
I love this Alphabetical Attributes exercise. Since "D," I've really been thinking much more of God throughout the day as I come up with more and more words to describe Him. Awesome. Anyway, my H-word for the day is:
Hallowed: adj. - regarded as holy; venerated; sacred
Indeed He is.
Love you all,
Jenann
He is our High Priest.
Praying for Connor's needs, the pacer...can it be removed later if not needed? & praying for the family, & for Cherie to feel better.
Have a blessed Friday!
He is our HE-MAN! Able to do all things!
Going with HEM for my H word today! One of my favorite verses:
Ps. 139:5-6
You hem, me in-behind and before; you have laid your hand upon me. Such knowledge is too wonderful for me, too lofty for me to attain.
The dictionary definition is:
1. a border of a cloth article doubled back and stitched down
2. a rim or a margin
God has hemmed us in, stronger than any cloth doubled back and stitched down, He goes before us and behind us, securely enclosing us in His grace, mercy, love & protection!
Still praying for you all and the specific requests you bring us each day.
Hallelujah! He is the reason for all our praise. Praise the Lord!
We're so happy to hear about the good test results - what a blessing! We'll continue to pray for Cherie and her health today.

Psalm 54:4 "Behold, God is our helper, The Lord is the sustainer of my soul."
Psalm 46:1 "God is our refuge and strength, A very present help in trouble"
We love you guys. John for the Bynums
God Is Hallowed. Praying for you all.
hallowed (adj.) Sanctified; consecrated;
Ben & Karon Lee
He is Rumn Ro'sh: The One who Lifts My HEAD.
Okay, so I cheated a little bit. That is not really a "H" word for God, but it is comforting to know He does that, when we do not have the strength to do it on our own.
I am praying for you all.
May God bring you another miracle today!
Harmony! Love you all...SARA
Cherie', As a mom I understand the need to be healthy. The weight is even greater on you, now, for having the ability to do what needs to be done and be where you feel you need to be. Perhaps this is God's way of forcing you to take some physical rest... I know - a HUGE oxymoron!! God knows you are sick, and He knows you don't want to be. A cup of tea and a nap will do you much more good than stewing in the frustration - be at peace! (I KNOW this may take a monumental and willful effort.)
You are ALL in our prayers! The Tucknesses
My word is going to have to be HONEST
I'll go ahead and add HUMBLE to complete what I started yesterday:
Matthew 11:29 Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. (NAS)
Jesus, our Great Shepherd and Savior, first had to humble Himself just to be born clothed in mortal flesh! During the three years of His ministry He consistently illustrated humble and complete obedience to the Father, and servant leadership towards His disciples, even washing their dusty, dirty feet (as Pastor Mike pointed out on Sunday, this was the job of the lowest household servant at the time!) And, of course, in the most incredible act of humble obedience ever, He submitted to death on the cross that we might live - and by His stripes we are healed of the fatal wound of Sin.
May we all learn from and imitate Christ's humble heart.
Praying (even when I don't mention it in my comments, know that I am!)...

Hosanna, Hosanna, Hosanna in the highest, Lord we lift up Your Name with hearts full of praise be exhaulted O Lord our God, Hosanna in the highest, Amen!
Psalm 118
praying for you Cherie, like Connor said, God is our healer, Amen!
He is "Head" of the Church.
Can you imagine how large "The Church" is? This blog has given a pretty good visual!
Praise you Jesus...thank You Lord!
HEARTENING
He gives strength, courage and hope to those who call on Him.
Holy, Holy, Holy...
'nuff said
H is for HEALER.
I can't improve upon Connor's own choice of the word for the day.
H = Holy Spirit
Hope, Holy Spirit, Helper, Heroic, Heartfelt, Humbling and Healing
HIGHER
Job 11:7&8 - Can you fathom the mysteries of God? Can you probe the limits of the Almighty? They are higher than the heavens – what can you do? They are deeper than the depths of the grave – what can you know?
Psalm 61:2 - From the ends of the earth I call to you, I call as my heart grows faint; lead me to the rock that is higher than I.
Psalm 108:4 - For great is your love, higher than the heavens; your faithfulness reaches to the skies.
Praying for you!!
The Duarte's
H- He is our HIGH TOWER!
"The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer; The God of my strength, in whom I will trust; My shield and the horn of my salvation, My HIGH TOWER and My refuge; My savior, You save me from violence. I will call upon the Lord, who is worthy to be praised; so shall I be saved from mine enemies."
-2 Samuel 22:2-4
Once I did a study on "rocks" in the Bible...God is our ROCK and we can stand firm on Him. During my study, I learned that in days of old, many times, someone who was fleeing from an enemy and seeking shelter would run to a high rock (or "tower") and find refuge in a crevice. He could see the enemy approaching from a distance away and hide there until the danger had passed.
Williamsons, I am praying that your feet would stand firmly on the HIGH TOWER...in a high place...beyond the reach of danger and above any circumstances you may face...knowing that regardless of what may come, you are safe and sound in HIM.
