Day 84 - September 7 - Scratches and Tingles
Another day down. One of the exciting moments of the day was when the air conditioning quit working and started smelling like electrical fire. Cherié and her famous nose noticed it first, and she soon had the nursing staff trooping in to let them know. Before too long, it was apparent in the whole wing, and over the course of an hour or so all the AC went out in the whole building! Of course this was in the heat of the day, too. They finally got whatever was wrong fixed, but not before the nurses had prepped every patient in the unit for evacuation if necessary. We're thankful we didn't have to roll the boy down the hall and outside!
We had a chance to go to our home church today for the first time since June, and it was the first time I got to actually get a glimpse of how many people are following our story (as opposed to how many post up). Wow, there's a lot of you! 8-) I got to put faces to some names I knew only through the blog, and we weren't able to make it through the morning with dry eyes. Thanks to all you West Hillians for your faithful support!
I think the bright point of the evening, however, was when we were sitting together after dinner. Connor began describing more sensations he was getting today - pain and pressure in what we used to refer to as "the nether regions"; tingling all over his lower back and right thigh, and a feeling he described as "what it feels like if you have some tight clothes on and they're moving against your skin" all around his chest, front and back. It is great to see that he's feeling these things. As of now, he is still unable to feel us touching him. We continue to pray for that to be fully restored.
Two more requests - that we would have a peace about the pacer discussion, and that I would be able to step back in to work effectively. I start back to work on Tuesday, and this time it looks like I'm pretty much done getting time off for this. It sounds right now that I've exhausted my options and will have to return to the control room, much as I question my ability to do so. Joshua 1:9 again, right?
It's late, I'm exhausted, and I'm falling asleep at the computer. Good night, y'all.
God is good, all the time.
Eric

You mentioned the pacer discussion. Yes, we will pray for peace in this. But has a decision been made?
Thanks again for the update. I know that when we go to church it is like coming home. So glad you and Cherie were able to do that today!
I was watching something on network TV tonight. It was a kinda concert thing for the Iraq Troops. They interview a young man that had been shot in the neck and told he would never walk again. Once he got into rehab, the OT gave him a walker and said "Let's see what you can do." Of course, he reaction was, "I am paralyzed, what do you think?" Well, he got in the walker and took 5 steps. I think it has been about a year and he walks with a cane. I thought of Connor. I know his situation is more serious but the fact this young man was told NEVER and he did walk, go to prove God is bigger than any Dr. We just do not understand or know what he has up his sleeve.
I pray for good rest for you and Cherie. I pray for high spirits for Connor. Never loose hope!

Any upsurge in the "feel, tingle, hurt, itch, shock, irritation, sweat, uncomfortable, pressure, etc." department is a surge in the right direction. It encourages me to keep running to God asking for the miracle of total physical restoration! Thank you for taking the time to update us on this good news, despite your exhaustion. As always, I'll pray for healthful rest, as well that God would protect your minds and spirits as you sleep.
May God pour His mercy upon you all...
Love in Christ,
Jenann
P.S. It was great to spend time you guys this weekend. :)
Hi Williams family~
We have a friend back here in Texas who was diagnosed with cancer a little over a month ago...he left his two children (17& 13) and wife yesterday to be with the Lord and I have been watching their blog as well...They have had an incredible journey as well and I wanted to share a couple of things from their site that might encourage ya'll as well...I hope! Even though they are dealing with cancer...it is all related to sorrow and lifes unexpected turns. Ultimately things that cause us to depend on the Lord, our Creator completely.

We know so many people right now who are having to trust God in some pretty unbelievably difficult times. And words sometimes fall short of any effective comfort. But we all know where our comfort comes from and our trust rests in...we want to be found faithful in pointing that direction and praying for you all. Have a blessed day!

Welcome Home!!!
So glad you could make it to Church yesterday. I am sure you had plenty to share with Connor when you got to the Hospital. Thank goodness for "mommy noses" (we can smell with the best blood hounds around!) We pray the germ count is low around you and that we will all be aware of how important this is to you all. Tell Connor we all want to storm his room, but we will "try" to arrive in small groups.
What an exciting week it has been for you all and how far you have come in one week.
We are thrilled for you all,
Morgan Hill Family
Thanks for posting the pointer to Don't Waste Your Cancer, Tonia. All the points it contains are great - but I especially like #9.

That's great news about Connor. I pray that God will give you that miracle of feeling your touches too.
Oh, how we take something like that for granted. It makes me want to leave my classroom (my students are actually working right now), and give my son a hug. :)
May God give you another miracle today!
Thank you for the up-date, what a blessing to be back at church around friends and family makes me smile, we ladies have the special noses in our family too, I guess it's a good thing??? We will continue praying and lifting all these requests up to our Lord especially for total restoration for Connor and that lives will continually be touched through Connor Watch, and yes many more people are praying and following Connor than send in comments I know I get on the BLOG and then forwared all the up dates to many many people that never send in a comment, so yes, just know that there are hundreds and probably thousands of prayer warriors out here lifting you all up.
Sept.8, Calendar message for the day.
I have called upon Thee, for Thou wilt hear me,O God: incline Thine ear unto me, and hear my speech.
Psalm 17:6
Whate'er the care that breaks thy rest,
Whate'er the wish that swells thy breast;
Spread before God that wish, that care, and change anxiety to prayer.
God Bless and Keep you,
Praying in Downey
Dear Lord, please let Connor feel his mothers touch today, in Jesus Name, Amen
Welcome home Williamson's. It was great seeing you in church yesterday and Cherie, girl, I have missed that beautiful singing to our Lord!!! You, my dear, brought tears to my eyes as I closed them and just listened to your voice over everyone elses! Thanks for going to the early bird service!!! I don't think there were too many "dry eyes" in that service as Pastor Mike prayed for your family. May God bless you so much today. May He show you all who He is today, gracious, merciful, forgiving, loving, and down right awesome!!! Praying for you all today.
Ginny P.
P.S. Connor, Jack wants to see you back on those drums! He is taking drum lessons himself and has always watched you play. :)
Hi Eric and Cherie' and the rest of the family. I'm so pleased you are back home. Prayers contonue to the Lord for Connor's complete estoration.
