Day 107 - September 30 - Surgery tomorrow
I'm spending the night at the hospital tonight to ensure we're here when Connor goes to surgery in the morning. To recap, the surgery will place a pacemaker in his diaphragm, which if successful will remove Connor's dependency on the ventilator. Connor is the first person west of the Mississippi to receive this new device, so don't be surprised if you hear, see, or read about him in the press sometime soon. In fact, if you see anything in the media and could save a copy for us, I'd appreciate it.
Connor is a bit nervous about the operation because it's an operation, and also because he's afraid that the surgery won't work. Please be praying that the operation goes fanastic.
The surgery begins at 0730 PDT, and I'm 3/4 asleep. Goodnight...

Connor, rest assured, the ConnorWatch prayer team will be on the job at 7:30 am PST, all around the world!
God will be there in the operating room, supervising the whole thing!
Yes, indeed! And praying ahead of time, and during...
I've got 2:30 a.m. covered! ;)
And God has you covered at all times and in all places and circumstances. I love Psalm 139: 5, which states:
"You hem me in—behind and before;
you have laid your hand upon me."
I'm a seamstress, so the stitching imagery works well for me. If something is hemmed in "behind and before," it's like a double stitch...tight and secure; it won't unravel and you can't bust out of it. God's loving protection is like that. Tight and secure. He holds you in His hands, Connor.
I'm praying for a successful surgery.
With Christ's love,
Jenann
Gracious Father,
I lift up Connor this morning, go before him as he heads to surgery in a few hours. Comfort him and fill him with peace. Ease all anxieties. I ask that this device works as planned and that Connor will be freed from the ventilator. May your perfect will be done, we give you all the glory. In Jesus name,Amen
It's 0620 and I'm already praying, as are the kids, Wade and Scott.
Jesus, may Your hand of wisdom and skill be on the physicians and staff. Enfold precious Connor in your peace and rest. Heal his body quickly from the surgery, Lord. And for Eric, Cherie and Joelle (and everyone else), may they be reminded of A-Z plus more of who You are!!!
We love you all and can't wait to see what God is going to do in all of this (surgery and press stuff).

Praying for you all today, for successful surgery and quick recovery, and for all those involved. Also praying for wisdom if/when you face any media regarding the surgery, etc.

I kept waking up this morning off and on since 1 something, and of course during those waking moments Connor was often on my mind and in my prayers. Hopefully when everything levels out for the boy I'll be able to get some sleep. :)
In the meantime I'm happy to be lifting him up to the throne.
I was also awakened early this morning and was praying before the surgery was scheduled to start a short while ago... and I'll continue to do so!
Just read this (perfect timing) and am praying right now.
yup....us too...praying and praying!

Praying hard here in Texas. Praying for peace for Connor and family, the kind of peace only God can grant. We send our love to all of you.
Praying this very moment as you are probably in surgery now. And I've been praying for you Connor to have peace and security in the Lord coming into this surgery. And of course your family as well.
Surgeries can be scary, I've had a few. But just remember, Isaiah 41:10, God says not to fear, for He is holding you up with His righteous right hand.
Love you all in Christ!
Kim
My kids and I prayed for Connor last night before they went to bed and then stopped what we were doing this morning(getting ready for school)at 7:30am to lift Connor and the family up in prayer. We will be continuing to pray throughtout the day.
Also, I didn't get a chance to put my son's "y" word on the comments on the actual day, so here it is a couple days late. He thought of it a few days before "y" day. He said for Y I would say "You can lean on Him." I pray Connor and the family will continue to lean on Him.

Connor,
Hello my sweet nephew! It is Wednesday morning at about 9:43, and as far as I know, you are still in surgery. You are in the hands of the Great Physician, as you have been from the moment this accident happened. I don't understand why God has chosen this path for you, but I do know that he has made you and your family strong enough to endure and that He has some sort of plan. I have told you many times how proud I am of you (the last time probably being in your graduation card) for the young man you've become, but I want you to know that you are my hero. I've seen Christians face trials and adversity and keep their faith intact, but never anything like what I've seen (or I should say heard) in you. I know that God is smiling down on you and saying, "I knew he would remain faithful!" I love you.
