Day 105 - September 28 - ...two steps back
Connor has begun doing some strange things, health-wise. First, he is having episodes when his blood pressure inexplicably drops for no apparent reason. His saturation level and heart rate remain where they are supposed to be, but he suddenly feels really heavy, turns ashen, and starts to pass out. This has happened three times in the last few days, and needless to say is a bit frightening for him (and us). Particularly since the doctors and nurses don't seem to have a handle on why it's happening. Additionally, he has begun to run a fever and the RT told us today that his lungs are getting "junky" again.
Please be praying for his health and the condition of his lungs. We really don't want to go back to having to fight pneumonia.
We should also be finding out the results of the MRSA cultures tomorrow - we need your prayer that the cultures will come back sufficiently clean that he can be released from isolation.
Another strange thing for the boy today was that he said his hands felt swollen. That's a new sensation, that might be signs of returning senses. Another prayer request...
One of the biggest battles the boy has right now is that he's having to fight his fear and anxiety. Anytime anything happens - alarms, or things like his BP changing, or anything unexpected, Connor almost panics. His heart rate goes up, he breaks out in a sweat, and he gets very nervous and uptight. Please be praying that he would be learning to rely on God and His provision. Pray that Connor would KNOW that God is good. Connor really needs to believe that God truly loves him.
Tomorrow (9/29) is "Y". God's own name - the only time in the Bible when He gives a name that says who He is rather than what He does - *Yahweh". Which translated into English, means "I AM".
He is. Whether we believe in HIm or not, He is. Whether we want Him to or not, He is. Go ahead and praise Him for being.

May he know how wide, how deep, how long, Your love is for him. I praise You Father God for Your mercy endures forever. I ask for that special miracle today, heal him 100% and allow him to walk out of his room. Nothing is too big for You God,nothing. Ease Eric & Cherie, and Joelle's minds this morning. Allow them to wake up with no fear or anxiousness, give them all unspeakable joy this morning.I ask all this in the precious name of Jesus,Amen

YEARNING
n. deep longing, especially when accompanied by tenderness or sadness; deep pity, sympathy or tenderness
God knows, understands, and pities man's helpless estate. Yet, He YEARNS for relationship with His special creation and, so, has provided the way for that to happen: Jesus. Through Christ we are reconciled to God and are adopted into His family as dearly loved children. What a blessing!
Eric, AMEN to your last two lines! HE IS.
Connor, I thank God for every new sensation you experience. I'm praying for even more. And with it, I pray that you learn to understand this changed body of yours...and that you'll continue to rely on God for everything. Your mind is a battlefield -- God's good against Satan's fear and despair. But always remember (as you pointed out on V-day), God is your VICTOR. Raise your God-banner high for the enemy to see because God has already won. You are on God's side...you have already won.
Praying without ceasing,
Jenann
God is Yours!! Yesterday, today and tomorrow. Connor we all love you. God is your rock, your refuge, your fortress. Run to Him. Praying for you in Ocqueoc, Michigan. Love, Jann and Bill
He's our yoke.
"For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.}
I could not sleep this morning because I was thinking of Connor, so I got up to read his blog.
I am thankful I did because I will be praying extra hard for him today!
Mine has been taken, but I love it so much I'll say it again. He is YAHWEH/Lord Jehovah.
I'll also say this again. Look to the cross, Connor, look to the cross. I've been in places where it seemed that God couldn't love me or He surely wouldn't let me hurt so badly. But I can't say that I love anyone enough to willingly put my son through what He allowed His son to go through. He would have done that even if you were the only one to believe in Him. He loves you that much.
You're an awesome young man. Praying for you in Albany, OR
Yes, Lord
Yes, Lord
Yes, Yes Lord
Yet God.
He is still God, He will hear you, He will be with you, He will never leave you, when all else seems to fail, Yet God will be with you.
Job 13:15a "Though He slay me, Yet will I hope in Him..".
You are all in our thoughts & prayers. In my BSF lesson I'm reminded of Isaiah 44:3" I will pour water on the thirsty land, & streams on the dry ground."
'It is usually that way with God. In the midst of the worst adversity, in the most barren of the desert seasons, God moves & the showers of blessings fall.'
Lifting you up,praying for healthy lungs & complete restoration.
In His Grace,
Kathy C, MH
Got this in my email...
He is Waiting in the Midst of the Storm
by Max Lucado
Peter knows he is in trouble.
The winds roar down onto the Sea of Galilee like a hawk on a rat. Lightning zigzags across the black sky. The clouds vibrate with thunder. The rain taps, then pops, then slaps against the deck of the boat until everyone aboard is soaked and shaking. Ten-foot waves pick them up and slam them down again with bonejarring force.
These drenched men don’t look like a team of apostles who are only a decade away from changing the world. And you can be sure of one thing. The one with the widest eyes is the one with the biggest biceps—Peter. He’s seen these storms before. He’s seen the wreckage and bloated bodies float to shore. He knows what the fury of wind and wave can do. And he knows that times like this are not times to make a name for yourself; they’re times to get some help.
That is why, when he sees Jesus walking on the water toward the boat, he is the first to say, “Lord, if it’s you … tell me to come to you on the water.” (Matthew 14:28)
He is aware of two facts: He’s going down, and Jesus is staying up. And it doesn’t take him too long to decide where he would rather be.
Perhaps a better interpretation of his request would be, “Jeeeeeeeesus. If that is you, then get me out of here!”
“Come on” is the invitation.
And Peter doesn’t have to be told twice. It’s not every day that you walk on water through waves that are taller than you are. But when faced with the alternative of sure death or possible life, Peter knows which one he wants.
The first few steps go well. But a few strides out onto the water, and he forgets to look to the One who got him there in the first place, and down he plunges.
Peter’s response may lack class—it probably wouldn’t get him on the cover of Gentleman’s Quarterly or even Sports Illustrated—but it gets him out of some deep water:
“Help me!”
And since Peter would rather swallow pride than water, a hand comes through the rain and pulls him up.
The message is clear.
As long as Jesus is one of many options, he is no option. As long as you can carry your burdens alone, you don’t need a burden bearer. As long as your situation brings you no grief, you will receive no comfort. And as long as you can take him or leave him, you might as well leave him, because he won’t be taken half-heartedly.
But when you mourn, when you get to the point of sorrow for your sins, when you admit that you have no other option but to cast all your cares on him, and when there is truly no other name that you can call, then cast all your cares on him, for he is waiting in the midst of the storm.

I just got on and have done a little catching up. Sunday is a busy day for us and it is hard for me to get online. So, after reading the last two posts and comments my heart is heavy for ya'll, particularly you Connor! Sunday is a hard day when things are not as they should be...at least that has been my experience while in the "desert". The deciever likes it that way, so don't be surprised as he brings out all the artillary against you but more importantly against your witness. He would love for you to become bitter and curse God (check out Job). Then once we go there he accuses us of being a poor Christian...anyway it is a predictable cycle for anyone of us and one that I think he draws us into so that we take our eyes of Jesus and put them on ourselves and our circumstances. The Sabbath Day is a battlefield! Physically, emotionally, and most certainly spiritually. But the demons that come after our minds and our thoughts can't stick around when we are in a place of worship and praise.
You know all the hymns and songs that praise God for who He is and what He has done. Sing them! Loud and strong! You still have that right? Worship Him & Praise Him!
I'm reading a book by David Jeremiah called My Heart's Desire sub title Living Every Moment in the Wonder of Worship. Here is just a snip of it and the primary reason I've been so long winded. (Sorry if it has become rambling)
"But if you live your everyday life in the power of faith, expecting God to reach down into the most mundane of activities in the most modern of worlds, you may begin to see wonderful things."
"There are people today who refuse to be ruled by conventional thought. They expect great things from God, and they attempt great things for God. They walk out to the edge of human limitations and take one more courageous step out into the frontier of faith, where there are no limits but the sovereign will of God. Medicine and megabytes are not enough for them; they live as if we serve a mighty God, and they're never disappointed. I believe you'll find that one of the common denominators among these believers is a cultivated approach to worship. They exalt the name of God at all times, they rejoice in the Lord always, and they see the power that is unleased when they live that way."
God knows where you are Connor, He has not left you useless in His purpose for creating you or useless in His kingdom! He knows where He is taking you...praise Him with what you do have and tell the enemy to shut-up!
Trust Jesus for His healing in what ever form that may be and don't compare yourself to others! I can't do that, none of us can! But don't give up or give in, focus on Jesus, Worship Him, Praise Him!
I hope you have a better day today and will be in prayer for you as always!
Worship & Praise Him, by the power of Christ in you and the Holy Spirits work through you transform the bad thing that has happened to you into a glorifying thing for the !Yes! of your life.
Lovingly,
tonia
Will be praying for healing in so many ways -- I'm thankful for your reminder at the end that He IS...
May the Lord continue to show Connor, the family and friends that He is more powerful and loving than their fears,
With apologies in advance, Eric :-)
YAW-CORRECTOR
Yaw, for those of you who aren't flight controllers (or sailors, for that matter), is "deviation from a direct course" according to the dictionary. So, in the storms seas (or skies) of life:
Proverbs 3:5 Trust in the LORD with all your heart
And do not lean on your own understanding.
6 In all your ways acknowledge Him,
And He will make your paths straight. (NAS)
And, yes, a hearty AMEN to what you wrote about Yahweh, Eric! Let us always first praise God for *Who He is*!
Yes! is already taken but that was the first words out of my mouth when I heard the good news re: MRSA. I so empathize w/ you, Connor, re: the panic attack having had one a week ago when I found myself in the E.R. after a fall. It just becomes so strange as your heart races and you feel like you can't see or hear. God is there in the midst of even our deepest storms and, in my case, He sent a friend at just the right moment...I know God has put many pecial people in your lives, as well, to walk beside you. Praise God for His faithfulness!
I am in a Bible study by Beth Moore re: being in a "pit"--much like Joseph. Tonite, we talked about God's plans for us (Jer 29) and the ways we can later minister to others b/c of what we learned while we were "in the pit". I know God has a wonderful ministry planned for you--it's just hard when progress in that direction seems so slow but you are an awesome witness to all of us & to your careproviders each day--even when you feel less than "perfect".
Love & prayers. Cheryl
p.s. Please read Psalms 40:1-3; it is the key verse to our Bible study and means alot to me!
