Day 67 - August 21 - Potential Move?

Please be in prayer about a potential move to a sub-acute facility near our home. We got notification this afternoon that the insurance wants to move Connor tomorrow because "he doesn't need the hospital anymore" and there's a facility (in Sacramento) that is willing to take him. Our case manager contacted a Children's sub-acute hospital in Saratoga, about 35 minutes from our home, and JoƩlle and I toured it this afternoon. The people are fantastic and we think the environment would be a good one for Connor. They are still evaluating his file and discussing things with my insurance company, but we may be moving away from Fresno tomorrow.

I don't know if this is a good thing or a bad thing. I just know that if God wants Connor in Saratoga, that's where he'll be. I'm not qualified to tell you how to pray here - my understanding of "good for Connor" and "bad for Connor" is significantly skewed. All I really know is that God has not yet seen fit to answer my heart's desire. I'm fuzzy on everything else.

I would appreciate your prayers, however, that wherever we end up will be the best place for Connor; that he will be blessed there; and that the facility will be the right place for Connor's full recovery.

I'll let you know more when I know more.

Eric

Psalm 23 (NLT)
A psalm of David.

1 The Lord is my shepherd;
I have all that I need.
2 He lets me rest in green meadows;
he leads me beside peaceful
streams.
3 He renews my strength.
He guides me along right paths,
bringing honor to his name.
4 Even when I walk
through the darkest valley,
I will not be afraid,
for you are close beside me.
Your rod and your staff
protect and comfort me.
5 You prepare a feast for me in
the presence of my enemies.
You honor me by anointing my
head with oil.
My cup overflows with blessings.
6 Surely your goodness and
unfailing love will pursue me
all the days of my life,
and I will live in the house of
the Lord forever.

God be with you all!

Love ya

Dear Williamsons,

Such a difficult time you are facing - waiting to see which doors open and which ones close. Our family is praying for clarity and peace for you all as you begin this new journey.

"Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go." Joshua 1:9

What exciting news. I'll be praying that this is exactly the right place for Connor and that the Williamson family is exactly right for this place. What a blessing you will be to them. I think that they are in for an incredible blessing that they have no idea is coming their way.

As the weekend is approaching, remember that although many of us are out of town and away from our computers you are not away from our thoughts and prayers. I know that as soon as I get home Sunday afternoon one of the first things that I will do is check out the Connor Watch. In the meantime the prayers will still be going up.

Have a wonderful weekend and a fantastic move if that is the direction the Lord moves.

Eric & Family,

We are praying for a great new hospital facility for Conner that is near to home. A place where he will have the best of care and be surrounded with upbeat, encouraging staff and begin his rehabilitation.

Rest in the Lord's assurance and go with the flow, because the Lord is on the move and you are in His hands -- what a wonderful place to be!!

What a blessing to be inching towards home. There are many here in Morgan HIll that would be thrilled for you, also praying! If there is anything we can do to help let your "Pharmacist" know.

We will wait to hear the update and how we can help. Prayer, visit, anything.

You have been such a blessing to us, let us now as families in Morgan Hill bless you and help.

We will look for the next update and keep you in our prayers.

Sounds like the Lord is doing some leading, IM so thankful that our hope is in Him, the God who never changes but is steadfast and trustworthy. You are in good hands Williamsons, We can't wait until all the praise reports start rolling in. keep your eyes on the one who is in control and who is worthy of all our praise.

Show me the path where I should walk, O Lord; point out the right road for me to follow.
Lead me by your truth and teach me, for you are the God who saves me. All day long I put my hope in you.

Dear Eric,

I sure understand the not understanding part and the fuzzy part. My 18 yr. old son walks with his 2 feet, but he does not walk with his God. "God has not seen fit to answer my heart's desire" either, despite praying for this child since before he was born, raising him in a Christian home (unlike my own upbringing for many years), training him in the things of God, sending him to Christian school for 6 years and praying intensely during the middle and high school years.

I share this to encourage you that I understand fuzziness. Many others probably also understand. I respect you and thank you for sharing your fuzziness. I guess this is how God grows some of us in our faith, even when we didn't think we needed it, and we most certainly don't want it to grow in this way.

I pray that both of our sons will again WALK.

Learning to trust with you all,
Lisa

Our family will be in deep prayer over this move. What is best for Connor is Gods will for Connor...In this manner we always pray. However, because we can not always know His will ...we will also prayer for the Saratoga facility to accept Connor. We pray for peace and some normalcy for your family...and absolutely 100% complete restoration for Connor.
In the name of Jesus
Amen

It was our intent to stop by and see you guys today, but in light of your latest blog, and the good possibility of moving Connor today, we will not do so. We pray that God will be in every aspect of the move, just as we know He will be, and this new "home" will be a blessing to all of you, at least until such time that God chooses to release Conner from his present condition.

Praise that our Heavenly Father knows exactly what is best for Connor, even when we see things differently, or can't see it at all! I'll be praying that you will have clear direction in this potential move - that doors will be wide open, or definitely shut so there is no fuzziness, and that you will have confidence that God is the One who has this plan in His hands.

I know how anxious you all must be to have Connor closer to home. Praying that you will have your answer and the desire of your heart very soon.

We'll be praying for a smooth move and Conner
acceptance at the Saratoga Facility. If it is the same one that a neighbors child was at in the late 90's, I know she really thought it was a great place.

Also, again, if it is the same one I am thinking of, there is a really good Bible Teaching Church right down on Saratoga Ave called Westgate Church. If you ever in need of a church away from your home church on a Saturday night or Sunday morning.

Romans 5: 3-5

I also pray that you all of some peace of mind and calm today!

My first thoughts reading this blog were of the Aaron Shust song "My Savior Lives" where it says

"I am not skilled to understand,
what God has willed,
what God has planned.
I only know at His right hand
stands one who is my Savior."

May you be blessed by peace and comfort in your times of transition.

Praying for you

When I saw the post of Connor not being accepted in Gilroy. I was relieved! Believe it or not, that was an answer to prayer. Connor needs an RT and he needs to be close to a regular hospital in case of an emergency.

When I saw your post today, I checked out the Saratoga facility online. It seems like they are much better prepared to handle Connor.

Please make sure that Connor is ready to leave the hospital. i.e. Is his pneumonia coming back? Will he need to be on a rotating bed again? Because, I doubt that the facility he goes to will have some of these things to aggressively treat the pneumonia. The insurance company is trying to get him out of there for financial reasons and might not be seeing all the little details. What they see is that he is no longer in ICU. If there is any chance that he might need to be back in ICU soon, then he should stay put. If there is any reason why you think he needs to be there - now is the time to speak up.

I'm speaking from experience. My daughter is currently in a sub-acute children's hospital in San Jose. In addition to that they moved her from the hospital too soon. She ended up making two trips back to the hospital from the sub-acute facility because of it.

Please feel free to contact me. I would be honored to help in any way I can. I am praying for the right spot for Connor and his family.

We would be thrilled to have Connor closer to home if it is the right place for him to be. My children and I want so very much to have the opportunity to come and meet you all.

Remember, God is good all the time, even if he doesn't have the same plan we pray for.

A valid point. In California, however, children's facilities must care for people as children until their 22nd birthday. That's why it's appropriate in this instance.
