Day 57 - August 11 - Monday News

See, now y'all know how I feel!

Just kidding!!! Seriously, I appreciate everyone's concern as posted in the comment under the "Oppression" post, and I truly want to keep everyone updated as much as possible. While I'm at work and in Morgan Hill, however, all the news has to go through an additional layer of people before it gets to you - Cherié has to get it to me, and then when I'm not working I can get it to you. So I apologize for the silence - believe me, I recognize how important it is to keep everyone in the loop! So that you know, my "default" setting is "Let everyone know" - you can rest assured that if there's anything we desperately need prayer for, I'll be squealing like a stuck pig!

Connor had a better day today. The docs quit feeding him through his stomach tube, which meant that he actually had a chance to get hungry! When I spoke with Cherié this afternoon, the boy had just finished off his lunch from Panda Express - all of it! So apparently the swallowing is going very well!

Our wonderful RT has been making some significant efforts to wean Connor from the ventilator, as well, and while he remains connected to that infernal contraption, he's doing better. He was able to use his speaking valve for 25 minutes today while he had some visitors, so they had a great time being able to hear his voice again too. I guess I'm just going to have to quit working so I can hear it myself again someday!

I wanted to take a second to also thank each of you for your wonderful posts and comments over the last couple of days - they have all really encouraged me and the family, and I can't express enough what support we get from it all. Thank you.

Another prayer request - the RT told Cherié yesterday that, from their perspective, and not knowing what the doctors are thinking, but the RTs feel he's getting close to being able to be moved! So please be in prayer about that, and that the Lord would be preparing the way to wherever the right place is. We have ideas, the insurance company has ideas, and I'm sure the hospital has an idea too - we'll be in need of a lot of wisdom for decisions pretty soon. Please pray for us.

Love you all!

So good to read a post from you! Sounds like a more upbeat day today, praise God. My prayer is that God paves the way for you so smoothly that there is no question or burden for decision-making on your part. I pray that His hand will be evident in every facet of Conner's situation and that He will give you courage, confidence and rest as you move forward with your son. It keeps coming to my mind that He was there all along as Christ endured what He did on our behalf--He is there for each one of us as well.

Wishing you all a night of superior peace and restorative rest.

Blessings,

Good Evening Eric and family, just a few encourageing scriptures for when it's time to make those decisions about a move. We will continue to pray also we will be praying for doors of God to open and all others to be closed the Lord will lead and show you.

Show me the path where I should walk, O Lord; point out the right road for me to follow.
Lead me by your truth and teach me, for you are the God who saves me. All day long I put my hope in you.

Psalm 25:4-5 NLT

Pay attention and grow wise, for I am giving you good guidance. Don't turn away from my teaching.
Proverbs 4:1-2 NLT

I will teach you wisdom's ways and lead you in straight paths. If you live a life guided by wisdom, you won't limp or stumble as you run.
Proverbs 4:11-12 NLT

Our God will light the way, keep listening for that still small voice.

Hi Family,

Oh, I get it...now we DO know how you feel. Thank you for the great update. :) Hey, I'm trying to load a video in my e-mail so I can send it your way. The kids had a great time making it. Hope it is done right and not too big or too long. I am sending the 4th take. It was the last one they did and the kids both like it. Gino was so excited he wanted to do it again. But, it is their bedtime. It's taking a while to load but will be sending it to ConnorMovies@PaladinPictures.com. Awe man, I have been trying all night to send the video but I reckon I will need to make a shorter one...too big to send. Sorry! The kids will have fun again trying to make it. Praying a good nights rest, continued strength and encourgement ya'lls way.

Love,

Connor & family--I am excited to hear that you actually got to eat Panda Express. I hope it was orange chicken b/c that's my kids' favorite (and mine, if I have to admit it). You are all such an inspiration to me and I praise God for all of you (and those who post comments, as well).
My prayers are especially with you as you have less company during the week than on wkends.
Hey Connor--do you have Ps 103 memorized yet? I'll bet you do!

Joelle, another way you can bring up Conner's spirit, is the next time you are in a picture with him, wear your BRONCOS jersey.

Selfish post...forgive me

.I miss all of you guys not being here...a lot...think of you constantly and wonder-pray about Connor and you all... you are sorely missed at home...praying that Connor gets to improve steadily and can be moved closer to home soon (apparently for my OWN selfish reasons!)...

ISAIAH 30:18
"Yet the Lord longs to be gracious to you; he rises to show you compassion. For the Lord is a God of Justice. Blessed are all who wait for him !"

Eric, Thank You for being YOU! Your sharing you honest feelings is refreshing and the best way for your Fam and friends to pray with you.

Even if the feelings or thoughts change from the time the blog entry is made and then read... that is not a problem for God who has no time in His presence all is now...whoa very deep.

Since there is no lag in His presence any prayer for you guys is able to be accomplished regardless as to when any of us step into intercede with you guys!

It is such an amazing blessing to see all of you desiring to "be" completely living form and in the Tree of Life - Jesus.

That is the key element for your "boy" ...and all of us! You have decided to not "look" or "play like" Christians.... You've decided to be totally IN HIM!

So as the world looks at Connor, Eric, Cherie, Joelle, Granny et al
may they "see " Jesus, "smell" Jesus, "taste" Jesus, "hear" Jesus and "feel" Jesus (all five senses)

And may the One Who Heals bring all five of these senses wonderfully back to this damaged earthsuit of Connor's ...to God be the Glory

Thank you for sharing your journey,
Paul Belt - Visalia, CA

Is Conner's room decorated at all? I know there are limits as to what can be in the room; but bright colors make happy people! Drab, boring walls make sad people. Start a collage of pictures if you can.

Let Conner send us a post...we hear your versions...let us get a post of his words...we want an opportunity to hear from THE BOY! You can be his stenographer!!

Love you all!
