Day 54 - August 8 - Day's End

Connor and I had a great time together today - we had most of the day alone as Cherié and Joélle are back home, and we bonded together as we studied the Word and prayed (oh, and we watched Monster Trucks on TV, too).

Connor did really well all day, with no lung or heart issues. His condition is essentially unchanged. He wasn't particularly hungry at any meal, and so didn't eat much. We had some encouraging news from a number of sources today, including information about our insurance plan which was a major answer to prayer, and another visit from the same believing staff member as yesterday; he came in and prayed with us, again lifting Connor's spirits and encouraging him. Also, he and another staffer brought CDs for the boy to listen to today, and so the day went by - without much news but with some very enjoyable guy time together.

The girls are spending the night at home, and will be driving back here in the morning. Please pray for their safety on the way.

This might be a good weekend for some of his friends to come visit - there are a couple of guys coming down Sunday; if others are planning to come anytime this weekend, it should work. All I ask is that you please let us know ahead of time so we can coordinate visits.

Anybody try the Macaroni & Cheese? If so, let me know if it's as good as I remember it!

Goodnight, all.

Eric - Amazing, daily "real life", living in the Tree stuff bro.

You remind us of the difference of living in the Tree of Knowledge OR the Tree of LIFE!

The rest of the story of hanging with the Tree of Life is that as we eat from it/Him He dwells in US.

And as we yield - Jesus more of You and less of me, it is not I who live but Christ who lives in me!!

Eric, Cheri, Joelle & Connor You guys are living examples of this truth - Thanks

Hi Williamsons,
I regularly check in to pray for Connor and you all, and am thankful for the "guy time" of fellowship as you continue to live your faith there. We are thankful for the news of Connor's heart and lungs remaining healthy, and have not stopped praying for returning functions to the nerves and diaphram and complete physical restoration.

As far as the Mac and Cheese, it's a great idea and analogy, and I have my own mother-in-law's original recipe with the fattening whole milk and real grated cheddar cheese, with elbow maccaroni that is baked or broiled, that I need to introduce to our 17 year old! I think he has only had the boxed kind and Easy Mac with the microwave lives we lead. It reminded me of our need to slow down and savor the authentic flavor of things in life (ie Be Still), spiritually and physically.

We are encouraged by your testimony, and thank you for sharing your heart. We hope to meet you some day, if anyone comes from the Hollister or MH area, possibly on a Saturday, to encourage you.

May the Lord continue to bless and keep you..... and give you His peace.

Connor,
I have decided to post a comment after your dad noted that comments posted on your blog lift his spirits! I have been following your story since June 18 when my sister-in-law (in Richmond, VA) forwarded your site as a prayer request. "Your" battle has become "my" battle and you are in my prayers each and every day. In fact, I find myself appealing to our Father on your behalf often during the day as you seem to pop into my head during the oddest times. Your bravery and faith, and the heartwrenching honesty of your wonderful family, have touched more lives than any of you will ever know. I am a firm believer that an earnest prayer will always be answered! Keep believing in the mighty power of our Lord and try to hold on to your faith that God is still in control and He WILL deliver you from your injured body and restore your health. Fight the despair that naturally comes from not receiving the answer to your prayers in the time frame that YOU would choose; God has His own timeline - but He IS still in control!
To add to your list of the differing folks from all walks of life who are fighting along side of you without your knowing it - I was born in Atlanta and still live in a suburb of Atlanta. I am a 53 year old mom of two sons age 28 and 29, and grandmother of 2 boys age 4 and 2 and a new grandaughter age 1 week. My husband, my soulmate and my best friend, passed away in his sleep six years ago at the age of 47. Randy was not even sick!! I relate this to tell you that I am living proof that we can overcome tragedy that seems impossible to survive. I count my blessings every day, and while I will never stop missing my husband, I am able to recognize how much I have to be thankful for. I know that your family and friends are helping you to focus on your blessings; you too will survive this extraordinary and unexpected battle. You WILL have your life back, be patient and keep praying!
Libby
