Day 50 - August 4 - A New Thing

Good morning all, This is Cherie and I haven't yet headed out to the hospital this morning. I thought I better let you all know that God did grant me a good nights rest and I am ready to face a new day. Thanks for the morning and evening prayers.

Connor was in good spirits last night, we did have a small episode where he passed out due to the nurse accidently disconnecting his resparator....Heart stats were at Zero as well. I was so upset that she was unable to figure out how to reconnect it, but some other nurses rushed in to help and the problem was solved. Connor was fine afterward, but I was a bit shaken up. This made me realize just how delicate his situation really is; please pray for his diaphragm and lung function. If his sats go down, his heart follows suit.

Eric is at work this morning; feels weird not to have him here beside me, but I am doing amazingly well. I felt at ease when i was in Connor's room yesterday even with our mishaps... haa haa. I did have a bit of blubbering and crying as I read outloud letters and cards from friends to Connor and the family. By the way, he really loves to hear letters from friends. He asked me to read them all again to him. Thank you for the letters and cards, it connects him to his friends, and encourages him as he longs to be home and over this journey.

I don't know when and if I will be able to blog today, but when I get the chance, I will try and drop a note to let you know how he is doing.

Please continue to pray for his diaphragm, lungs, and heart. For full function.

God bless each of you for all of your love, prayers, and support.

Thinking about you, Connor, Tex & Joelle (and "Granny" too) each and every day and hoping for the changes that will enable you to bring Connor home.

Ree,

I got a quick break and took a moment to check the blog, just like a good ConnorWatcher should! I will post up at lunch, but I know you read this when you can and so wanted to add my encouragement. You are doing a difficult thing very well, girl. I could not do my role for our family here at work if you were not doing such a fantastic job of filling yours there, and I am in constant amazement at how well you continue to function - much better than I. I admire you more and more every day - God has richly blessed me, Connor and Joelle.

I will leave you these words - "Do not throw away your confidence; it will be richly rewarded."

Hi Girly,
Just remember that I am thinking of you everyday, please carry me in your heart through this time and know that you have a friend there by your side. When you feel like you are alone, just think of our long walks and fun times we have had, remember I will always be your friend Forever. I love you Cherie, so much! I know we have not known eachother for a long time but it seems as if we have. You are like a soul mate friend!! I will carry you in my heart always. Be strong today and take a minute to just "be" in all the craziness. Love you and miss you and I am still shooting to come up next week, say tuesday. If you need an ear please don't hesitate to call me. Give Connor a kiss and tell him I am praying for him and so is my mom, she sends her love and prays to you all. xxoo....Sara

Cherie,

I am sure you were anxious to get to the hospital to see your boy, but thank you for taking a moment to blog that you all are getting rest, and letting us know what to pray for today.

We may not all be able to be there with you in person, but you are in our thoughts and prayers. Many of us send hugs through the internet to you. You are an amazing example of what a Godly mother and wife are. You have held the family together well and still maintained your own sanity. God will bless you richly for all your have done for His glory.

Hugs,
from one mother to another!
Morgan Hill CA.

God must trust you BIG ..TO TRUST YOU TO WALK THIS WALK...Cannot imagine your burdens.. They are bigger than most can carry.. You are always on my heart..
