Day 28 - July 13 - Gramma-tical Clarification

OK, before everybody gets confused -

"Granny" is CheriƩ's mom, Sherri. She also is variously called "Moppy" or "Mop" - both derivatives of "Ma P". Her last name is Patterson. "Ma P" = "Moppy", get it? 8-) Her husband DJ is usually referred to around here as "Gramps".

"Gramma" or "Gramma Ray" is my mom, Ardye. She continues to be called "Gramma Ray" after one of her now-grown grandchildren, as a child, couldn't pronounce her name and always called her "Gamma Ray". It just stuck, and is somewhat of a family joke. Her husband (my dad) Ed is called "Pop-Pop" by all of his kids and grandkids, and "Monkey" by everybody else in the vast Williamson tribe. It's a long story...

I just thought a bit of familial background might prevent some confusion in the future.

Eric: I just turned 57 years old last month, and I cannot call your Dad anything except Uncle Monkey. I am sure it sounds strange when a woman my age tells someone about her Uncle Monkey, but to me it is perfectly normal. We missed them this year at our family reunion. Prayers are still going up to the heavens. God is good....all the time! Tell my aunt that I said hello and I am glad she had a safe trip. Love to you all!

Uncle Monkey is normal for me as well...matter of fact I have to stop and think every time I want to say his real name! Too funny. I have been reminded of his horrible accident a few years ago when we found ourselves on our knees for quite some time praying for his life; and look what God done for us...I believe the same to be true for Conner! The part I struggle with is God's timing and not ours! I promise to try and be patient and wait on God's perfect timing in all of this. I love you all and pray for a blessed trip for Aunt Ardye.

Love you all,
Evalena

This message is for Granny P., one of my dearest friends. I am so proud of you and of your wonderful family. I am in awe of Cherie, Eric, Joelle, and Connor. I am convinced the wonderful examples you and Denny have set and your continued love, support, and guidance will serve as a beacon for Cherie and Eric, now and in the days to come. I love you, Granny P. Grannie B. in Arkansas

Praying hard. I was in similar circumstances (though less severe) when I was young....
