Day 36 - July 21 - Another Prayer Need
This morning, Granny P. awoke with really sore ears and throat. We don't really know if it might be allergies, or if it's a cold or something, but the effect is the same - Granny won't be in to see the boy for a while in order to protect him.
That in itself isn't a crisis - she actually had made that decision before she even mentioned it to us. The problem is two-fold - first, we NEED her! She helps take such a load off of us and we've really come to rely on her, so doing without, even for a bit, seems more difficult than it probably really is. Second, she is staying in the RV with us, and we have concerns about contracting something ourselves.
Fortunately, we have two things going for us already - Gramma W. is here, so she's going to get the opportunity to help more! Woohoo! Also, we are already in MGTC (that's "massive germ transmission control", for you acronym-challenged folks!) mode already, in order to prevent us from accidentally making Connor's recovery more difficult, so we're a step ahead of that game.
Please pray that this isn't something transmissible, and that it will pass quickly. Also, please pray for all of our continued health, particularly for the boy. He's having a hard enough time fighting off pneumonia - he certainly doesn't need one of us to drop something else on him. Finally, please pray that Granny would know how much we love and need her, and that she would recover quickly so she can get back in to see Connor as soon as possible.

Cherié,
In Jesus' Name I pray that Granny P will recover quickly from whatever is bothering her ears and throat. I pray that she gets some rejuvenating rest as God is "making her lie down in green pastures and restores her soul." I pray that this is an isolated event and place a hedge of protection around Connor and the rest of the family. Amen.
Now, on a practical angle, if you have never heard of a "Nettie Pot", this is a must have for any sinus or hayfever type deal that affects the nose, ear, throat area. I saw it demonstrated and raved about on the Oprah show and have since introduced it to my family. It is a God send and its affects are immediate. You can pick one up in any drug store, Walmart, etc.
Isn't God gracious to invite us to come to Him about anything? What a great Abba Father He is!
Hugs and blessings,
Renée
Dear Heavenly Father, we lift Sherri up to you in Jesus precious name, we pray that she can get away with you be still and rest in your arms today that you will minister to her and restore her so tomorrow she will be able to jump back in where she is so needed. We pray that whatever this is that it will not go any further that everyone who is in Fresno ministering to Connor will be healthy, well and totally healed and rested. Please guard them Lord from germs and all things unhealthy and contagious
In Jesus Name we pray
"Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls." (Matthew 11:28-29)
God Bless and Keep You All,
Loving You and Praying in Downey
PS Sherri, gargling with salt water is very good, love ya
God Bless all of you Cherie. I miss you my love. I am hoping to get down there soon to see you. Take care of yourself and tell Connor my thoughts and prayers are with him and your family. Give me a ring when you get a chance hun..xxoo.....Sara
Carolyn,
thank you so much for sending me the updates, I feel so connected to this family who I don't even know!
What a success these parents are! they have instilled in their children a wondrous gift, faith!
I am amazed that Joelle was able to understand and articulate so beautifully what is happening, again an example of how God works through people.
The fact that Connor is offering up his suffering for other people has left me awestruck!
When my Father was suffering before he died, my brother, Francis told him that he could offer up his suffering everyday for a different person, my father said he was offering it all up for my mother. I think he knew that she needed it the most. Evident now as she is suffering a horrible torment since he has died. I am going to show her your e-mail and hope that Connors strength, and conviction of faith this family has will help her to be strong.
I will keep praying, obviously God has plans for this young man and his remarkable family.
Don't be sad, it is in His hands and He knows better then anyone what is best for us.
Love,
Sarah, Buffalo, NY
p.s. I am reminded of a song we sing in church:
"be not afraid, I go before you always, come follow me and I will give you rest
Dear Williamson Family....Grand ma's included. Now do not laugh, but my Mother who is VERY German has an amazing remedy for sore throats and ears. (Do not laugh) she would have us eat a box of Hot Tamales! (the Candy!) Let me tell you it would kill all the germs looming in your head. You do get a numb tongue, fresh breath, and to feel like the luckiest kid on the block. Of course we did have to gargle with salt, put some warm olive oil (soothes the pain) or some garlic in our ears also. (draws the moisture out)
Now that you have finished laughing you may be suprised, it really does work and to this day me and my three sisters still do it. So feel like a kid, and if your body can handle the sugar treat yourself and your loved one to some Hot Tamales.
My Hubby...(in the medical field)
would agree with me, but would also tell you to take airborne and lots of fluids.
You never know. We will keep praying for wellness for all and thank you again for letting us pray for you all.
I second what Reneé said: Neti Pot. It ROCKS! The solution you put into it is called SinuCleanse. I've been using it for a couple years now. It took me about 2 tries to get used to it, but once I did, the symptoms of my allergies (which are legion and last year round) greatly diminished.
After you use it, you'll know almost immediately if what Grandma P. is experiencing is allergies or cold. Two or 3 rinses with the stuff will do the trick (if it's allergies).
I'm praying for her as well as Connor and the rest of you.
Hoping today is one of the good days...
Love you,
Jenann
Well I've learned a thing or two about fighting a sore throat from this post!! :)
Cherié I'm a little late with this comment but we are praying for your mom. And for good health for all of you.
It did my heart good to know that you were able to go to church and sing and worship. I know what a blessing - and release - that can be. Praise God for providing that small respite in this storm.
Praying for the miraculous and for a special portion of "mom grace" for you. You are loved!!
Sherri Duarte
