Day 35 - July 20 - In Case You Need Another Prayer Request
FYI... THIS POST HAS BEEN UPDATED IN THE COMMENT SECTION!!!! NOW FLYING (HOPEFULLY) ON TUESDAY!
----------------------------------------------------
I'm trying to fly from DC (Dulles) to California tomorrow morning. My good friend Pete who flies the big birds across the pond has graciously given me vouchers to fly out to see Eric, Cherié, Joélle and Connor. The only catch is that I fly standby. My early AM departure from Dulles is rapidly filling up... close to the overflow point.
So I figured I can worry about it and allow the anxiety to brim over into other areas of life... or I can come here and ask for prayer. (BTW - I'm still tempted just to spend my time worrying about it!)
Thanks in advance,
Kent
Virginia (hopefully Fresno tomorrow!)

You got it Kent, what a great boost that would be for all of them to see you!!
UPDATE!!!
I've been watching the overbooking of my flight occur... it's like watching someone pour 50 pounds of manure into a 10 pound sack.
What started with nearly 20 seats available is now 20 seats oversold.
Anyhow, I'm taking the advice I've been given to hold off for the Day Less Traveled. I've made the decision to try and fly Tuesday... currently there are 33 seats available (and it's a lower traffic day).
But, that doesn't mean your off of prayer duty!
Thanks again,
Kent
(Fresno or Bust)
Dearest Kent,
I so want you to be on the plane. It would be "a great boost" to your brother and family and I'm sure it would sooth your soul too. You get your little toosh down to the airport and STAND. (There a whole bunch of scriptures about "standing". It's a good thing.) Just know that our Father is watching over you. If He wants you on that plane, nothing is going to keep you off. If He knows something we don't know (Dah), He might need to get you on another flight.
My Dad had a seat on a flight one time and this irrate woman came up to the ticket counter and was swearing and screaming that she had to get on that flight. My Dad said, "If you need to be on this flight so bad, please, take my seat." I forgot what flight number it was, and it was about 25 years ago, but the lady took Dad's seat and my Dad stood with his business friend at the terminal and watched the plane take off, only to see it take a nose dive at the end of the runway and kill everyone one board! Rest in the Sovereign Will and Direction of Abba.
But I'll believing that you'll get there some time tomorrow.
Your Sis in Christ,
Renée

Oh my! I must be having technical difficulties. I have blogged under my other blog name "thupergal". For this site, I'm just "Renee". Somehow I blogged twice. Sorry.
Okay, so Tuesday it is. I will stand believing with you for Tuesday. Like I said, God may know something we don't. You think?
Hugs, blessings and happy trails!
Renée (aka thupergal)
P.S. I dubbed myself that many years ago when I didn't have front teeth and I thought Superman was IT.
Hey, Renee, I don't know you but I like you already...I love the name "thupergal"!
Kent, we'll be praying for your safe trip on whichever day it works out. We often fly standby ourselves through my husband's work and we often get on even when the flight is overbooked. I don't know if you are far from the airport, but you might want to go and try to see whether you get on. If not, try a later flight or the next day...no big deal...just don't get stressed out over it.
Looking forward to meeting you!
The Slagles (Friends of E, C, J, & C in Fresno)
We will be praying for a seat. How wonderful to be with your brother in this time. Bless you. Like the other bloggers, God will put you on whatever plane He wishes regardless of the "overbooked" paper. Never you mind, you'll be there. Remember, God is in control so we don't have to be. Now, ain't that sweet!!! He thinks of everything. Gotta love our Lord. Safe flying Kent...
Ginny
Praying all will work out for you to be with your family.
Hi Kent. Trusting our Lord you are safely in California.
I just read your entire blog on "Rebellion of Thought." WOW! I'm on my way to try and find a copy today.
Hope you find Conner's situation improving when you get to see him. We continue to lift Conner and his family up in our prayers. Say hello to your mom.
