Day 30 - July 15 - I have a shelter
I have arrived safely in Morgan Hill, only to find a car parked on the curb behind the RV with no way to get it out of the parking space. I am trying to locate the owner to get it moved, but so far without success. So there's a small prayer request!
As I was driving this morning, I was listening to a CD aptly titled "Come Weary Saints", and I must have listened to Track 11 about 30 times. It's called "I have a shelter", and I thought it would be especially appropriate for my wife this morning. Here are the words:
I Have a Shelter
Words and Music by Steve & Vikki Cook and Bob Kauflin
I have a shelter in the storm
When troubles pour upon me
Though fears are rising like a flood
My soul can rest securely
O Jesus, I will hide in You
My place of peace and solace
No trial is deeper than Your love
That comforts all my sorrows
I have a shelter in the storm
When all my sins accuse me
Though justice charges me with guilt
Your grace will not refuse me
O Jesus, I will hide in You
Who bore my condemnation
I find my refuge in Your wounds
For there I find salvation
I have a shelter in the storm
When constant winds would break me
For in my weakness, I have learned
Your strength will not forsake me
O Jesus, I will hide in You
The One who bears my burdens
With faithful hands that cannot fail
You’ll bring me home to heaven

Cherié, I pray it blesses you this morning as it blessed me. I love you, girl.

Hello everyone, this is one of the grannys! I am grannyp from Wa. state, Cherie's mom. I don't know how to use this thing very well, so i am 'posting a comment, instead of a 'blog'. I just want to thank all of you wonderful prayer warriors and tell you we could not even take one more step if it were not for you all. Our hearts hurt so much for our beloved grandson, and his courage makes us ashamed of our frailty. He works so hard to make US smile, and tells us he loves us "more". Today it was hard to be in there because after his respiratory therapy he was suddenly sick to his stomach, and as I suctioned off his saliva from his lips and kept calling out to Jesus to heal my wonderful Connor, I felt a panic at his inability to even hang his head over the bed and retch. The nurse quickly put something in his i.v. to quell his stomach, BUT MINE WAS STILL CHURNING, from my utter helplessness for my grandson.
As I write this grandma Williamson is knitting, next to me, and Cherie is sitting with Connor while he sleeps, and Eric is in still in Morgan Hill. I will go up now and sit with Connor, but I had to let you all know we daily praise God for your faithfulness to keep us All in your prayers. Thank you grannyB, Linda (Silky), and Linda (Downey), especially for thinking of the grannies during this time.
Please add New York State to your list!! I have been praying for your beloved son and grandson since I started to read about the accident.GOD BLESS ALL OF YOU.

What a beautiful song and so perfect! I was doing my devotion this morning and came across these words from Martin Luther, "The devil, who is the originator of sorrowful anxieties and restless troubles, flees before the sound of God's music almost as much as before the Word of God."
Cherie, you've been blessed with an angelic voice, as well as Joelle. I love sitting in church listening to you sing - I always know where you are sitting because your voice carries throughout the sanctuary! When you and Joelle did your duet a year or so ago, how beautiful the sound.
I also love that all of you sing songs and praises throughout your days/nights in Fresno. What a way to minister to your heart and to the hearts of others. Cherie, I heard about your song you sang on Friday evening in the halls of the hospital. Oh my, the effect you're having (through the power of the Holy Spirit) is truly amazing.
Today I claim Ps. 46:1 for you and your family, "God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble."
Eric - I'm so glad you have that album! There are so many great songs on it... Soak it up!
Lee
