Day 29 - July 14 - Friends needed
Connor is very depressed this afternoon. He was lonely, and asked for his parents. We had stepped downstairs to avoid the crowds, so the lady that came to look for us couldn't find us. When we finally came back, he was near tears because he was alone, and nobody had turned on music or the TV. So he just sat.
He asked if he could see some of his friends again, and we told him "of course". Unfortunately, they are all hours away. So I would like to ask his friends to coordinate a visit sometime soon. He can see visitors while he's in this bed, and he is desperate for contact with people he knows. If you can manage to get down here to Fresno, please consider doing so for the boy's sake. He would greatly love to see you.
Also, if you do come down, bring pictures. He doesn't have much to look at except the ceiling and a bit of the walls, so his eyes are craving some stimulation. If you've got photos you think he'd like to see, please bring 'em with you when you come.

Eric, would you think a visit from I and Scott would be helpful at this point? I am planning on dropping by the hospital at about 2:30 and have a young lady in our church who wanted to introduce herself to Joelle. Let me know if this will work for you, Wade

Praying that friends would be able to get down here to Fresno to visit with Connor very soon. A hospital room can be a lonely place for sure. The photos are a great idea, too!
So thankful that our Father cares about every detail of our lives, and knows our every need.

I'm driving to Fresno in just a little while with my girls to stay at their adopted Gramma's farm, which is just 15 minutes from the hospital- we are staying through Friday, and there is room in our car and would even be room for someone to stay if they would like, and an extra car to drive. No investment other than time and willingness to be in the car with our chatty girls necessary.:) I'll be here in S.J. for another 45 minutes or so, and then in Morgan Hill another hour after that, before getting on the 152. Home phone# is in the WHCC directory . . .
eric tell Connor that I love him very much and that I am sorry I have not been down to see him lately but that I will be down in a Few days for sure to see him ok. All of our prayers go to you and the rest of the family

We have a poster that our youth/college group made for Connor and we would like to come Wednesday with a truck load of friends. Already left msg for G. Cox and talked to Kyle. They will round up all the right people as they know better than I. I left a msg on Cherie's voicemail. Please listen when you get time and let me know what you think. We would like to start doing this regularly now that you are not inundated with folks.

We have been putting together an ICU survival kit for you all. I was going to mail it out on Tuesday and would love to put some fun stuff in for Connor. Any ideas of Magazines, pictures/posters he would like. Give a holler on your blogs and we will be happy to fill the box with some items for the boy!
We had a Niece in ICU with a very rare cancer and know how "dreary" and not family friendly those places can be. (I can not tell you how many times I read the same magazine)
We think of all of you daily and know it being Monday is hard! Extra prayers for comfort are on their way!

Eric has been wanting to come, but didn't want to overstep. So I think he'll be heading your way this week as well.
Awe, this saddens me about Connor needing to see friends, is there a way of Connor having contact through a camera & the internet, maybe some of his buddies that can't travel can speak to him via internet camera? I am not very technical, but I know the soldiers are able to communicate with their families that way. It was just a thought. I also don't know Connor's capabilities to operate that yet? Betsy & Ariel say "HELLO CONNOR!" and Joelle too!

Even though we can't visit, we will be praying that many of his friends can and will, and that those visits will be encouraging to Connor. Know that many people in Louisville , Kentucky are praying for his healing and for encouragement and strength during this process for your entire family.

Maybe Connor (and family) could come up with a list of movies, tv shows, magazines, books, etc. so that people could send things that Connor would enjoy. I know I would be willing to pitch in and send a favorite movie your way!

Hey eric. Ite george. Pleae please tell connor that i love him to death! I REALLY wish i could come down moe often but with work and other things happening, it is making it difficult. I am going to try and come in the next week. But just make sure he knows that i love him to death. and also tell him that when he gets better im taking him to round table for the buffet and we are going to put them out of business!!!!!

hi, if anyone from hollister, gilroy or m.h. area would like to go up for a visit. I am wanting to go up and visit Cheri and Connor and the Fam. Being I have a 2 year old I would need to arrange for a sitter and would only go for the day. With that said if anyone wants to carpool together please contact me and we can try and schld. a day that works for us in the next 2 weeks. My suv holds up to 8 but is a gas hog.
