Day 17 - July 2 - What we wanted to see...
I was praying for 21% and 100. The 21 of course, is the "normal" atmospheric percentage of oxygen, the rest being nitrogen and trace gases. So I was praying for "normal" oxygen levels for the boy.
What the nurses and respiratory therapists like to see is "less than 40%". They consider that to be good.
This morning when I walked into Connor's room, he had been lying flat on his back, without the bed rocking, for more than half an hour. He was on 39% O2 and at 96% saturation!
So, another answer to prayer. The nurse said that the doctors are "extremely pleased" at Connor's progress thus far, and were discussing getting him out of the bed AND getting him off the respirator! Sounds like another answer to prayer, to me.
God remains faithful to us, even when we doubt, question, pout, scream and cry. God holds fast to us, even when we want to let go. I am reminded this morning that my Lord wants me to cling to Him in the midst of a storm that He has decreed I can handle. I sometimes have a differing opinion, but His trumps mine.
May Your will be done with my boy, Lord.

Thanks for keeping us all in the loop. Our family is praying for him throughout the day and it's so nice to have exact things to pray for and to see the way God answers them.

Eric, Cherie' and Joelle,
I went past Eternal Treasures in Morgan Hill last night after they closed. They have a picture of Connor on the front door labeled "Connor Williamson." They are awaiting delivery of shirts with Connor's picture, proceeds to be forwarded to ConnorWatch.
Just finished catching up on the blog. Hard to read though damp eyes.
God is good...all the time;
and all the time...God is good!

Evidently that doctor didn't know that a child of God has many more resources than Christopher Reeves! Isn't it awesome to have more power at our disposal than the movie stars of this world! Just wanted to let you know that we are all still praying for you here in Romania. May God continue to bless you all, Eric, Cherie and Joelle

WooHoo!! Praise God!! Isn't there a song about that - even when we're not holding on to God, He's holding on to us?? Gives real meaning to the term 'hang in' - hang in God's hands!!
Hey! That's great news! I'll continue to pray for his O2 sats.
It's also great to hear that the doctors are "extremely pleased" and that Connor is, in fact, making progress! I'm encouraged.
I'm also encouraged by how much you seem to be growing spiritually. You all have been stretched well beyond what most of us can comprehend. But it's precisely the trials we endure and that force us to our knees that cause us to grow because we rely on Christ for strength. I see this in you.
I just wanted you to know that over the past 2 1/2 weeks, you've encouraged me and challenged me spiritually. I've prayed more these past few weeks than I have in a very long time. While I know your current circumstances weren't meant for my specific growth, that's been a byproduct, nonetheless. And I'm praising God because of it.
I continue to pray for Connor's oxygen levels, lungs, spinal cord, limbs, feeling and movement. And I continue to pray for rest, refreshment, encouragement, growth and faith for all of you.
Love and peace to you all,
Jenann
God put it on my heart to send you this song by David Crowder. Bless you as the Lord continutes to hold you through out this journey!
With much love and prayers!
When clouds veil sun
And disaster comes
Oh, my soul
Oh, my soul
When waters rise
And hope takes flight
Oh, my soul
Oh, my soul
Oh, my soul
Ever faithful
Ever true
You I know
You never let go
You never let go
You never let go
You never let go
When clouds brought rain
And disaster came
Oh, my soul
Oh, my soul
When waters rose
And hope had flown
Oh, my soul
Oh, my soul
Oh, my soul
Oh, my soul
Overflows
Oh, what love, oh, what love
Oh, my soul
Fills hope
Perfect love that never lets go
Oh, what love, oh, what love
Oh, what love, oh, what love
In joy and pain
In sun and rain
You?re the same
Oh, You never let go
Dear Eric, Cherie, Joelle and Connor,
I just wanted to pass on a short story of God's grace in action. Bill and I are good friends of Terry and Rhonda Brown. When their daughter, Tori, was about 4, she was taken to the hospital with pnemonia. Within about four hours her condition grew worse and they put her in ICU. By the next day, she was so sick that many of the antibiotics they were using would not work and they moved her from Gilroy to San Jose to a critical care unit. By the time we went to see her, she had bloated to about three times her size and the prognosis was grime. Within a day or two they took her to Stanford, but the doctors were not optimistic about her survival as the drugs were not working to combat the disease. She continued to decline and they put her into a coma to keep her more comfortable. She lay comatose for almost a month at Stanford. Many people of the family of God prayed daily for her and the Browns daily and even hourly. At this point the doctors told the Browns that even if she did live, she would never be normal, her lungs would be damaged beyond repair, she would probably never run and play like other children and she would be constantly sick. Tori is 9 or 10 years old today, she is healthy, there is very little evidence of any damage on her lungs and she runs and plays like any other young girl. She gets an occasional cold and flu, but is not a sickly child by any means. The doctors could not explain it, but the Browns can . . . as a merciful God spared the life of their young daughter. I don't tell this story to give you any false hope, but Tori is a miracle girl, God does heal miraculously and ultimately as believers He controls our destiny. We are continuing to pray for you and your family and for total healing for Connor and for God's will to be done. Many Blessings, Bill and Jann Hija
I'm happy to see that Connor is still making positive progress!
Even when I can't post, I'm still thinking about you all.

Just as Jenann said, I have prayed more and harder in this past few weeks...and this byproduct of Connor's situation is exactly how God is using Connor to bring so many people closer to God, and perhaps, bring unbelievers in the hospital to know God's power...
last night out christians in commerce women's group met in gilroy. after over 2 hours of joyful singing these beautiful women spend the rest of our time praising and and interceding for one another.
nancy corbridge offered connors name in prayer. he is being lifted up all over, every day and every night his name is on the lips of every intercessor God has chosen to bring along on this journey.
the growth is painful but so rewarding too...we must as christians hang onto one another in this life. God has not chosen us to see through each other...but to see each other through.
thank you Jesus for your faith in all of us.

Joyfully praising God and earnestly interceding in prayer. I have shared Connor's story with other friends and also with our daughter in Rockport, Texas; I trust that they, too, are holding you and your family up in prayer. Know that you have an extended family of believers who come to our Father at every moment of the day and night--and we do not tire.
