Day 16 - July 1 - 55/100!
Just left Connor's bedside, where his numbers were 55% O2 and 100% saturation! Praise the Lord! I've decided I'm going to pray for 21% and stable sats at 100% for tomorrow!!!
The amazing thing about this, however, is that Joélle, Cherié and I went into his room and turned on one of Connor's favorite worship CDs. He plays this CD all the time, knows all the words, and can usually be found singing the words to the songs at nearly every hour of the day. We played the CD all the way through, and the four of us sang together in worship of our Lord. Connor mouthed the words with us, and we sang and sang and sang. We wept as we sang with our son these words - "Lord, I want to yearn for You, I want to burn with passion over You, and only You". We kept weeping as we sang all the verses of "How Firm a Foundation", especially the last three verses -
How firm a foundation, ye saints of the Lord,
Is laid for your faith in His excellent word!
What more can He say than to you He hath said—
To you who for refuge to Jesus have fled?
“Fear not, I am with thee, oh, be not dismayed,
For I am thy God, and will still give thee aid;
I’ll strengthen thee, help thee, and cause thee to stand,
Upheld by My gracious, omnipotent hand.
“When through the deep waters I call thee to go,
The rivers of sorrow shall not overflow;
For I will be with thee thy trouble to bless,
And sanctify to thee thy deepest distress.
“When through fiery trials thy pathway shall lie,
My grace, all-sufficient, shall be thy supply;
The flame shall not harm thee; I only design
Thy dross to consume and thy gold to refine.
“The soul that on Jesus doth lean for repose,
I will not, I will not, desert to his foes;
That soul, though all hell should endeavor to shake,
I’ll never, no never, no never forsake.”
Thank you, Lord, for that half hour.

When I read this latest blog, this song popped into my head. I'm leaving work right now and I'm singing it all the way home!
Praise God!!
The splendor of the King
Clothed in majesty,
Let all the earth rejoice,
Let all the earth rejoice.
He wraps Himself in light
And darkness tries to hide
It trembles at His voice,
It trembles at His voice.
How great is our God!
Sing with me,
"How great is our God!"
And all will see how great, how great is our God.
Age to age He stands
And time is in His hands,
Beginning and the End,
Beginning and the End.
The Godhead, Three in One,
Father, Spirit, Son,
The Lion and the Lamb,
The Lion and the Lamb.
How great is our God!
Sing with me,
"How great is our God!"
And all will see how great, how great is our God.
Name above all names.
Worthy of all praise,
My heart will sing,
"How great is our God!"
How great is our God!
Sing with me,
"How great is our God!"
And all will see how great, how great is our God.
I, too, will pray for 21% O2 and stable sats at 100% for tomorrow.
Praying fervently and as effectively as I know how for Connor and the rest of your family!

Eric, Cherie, Joelle and Connor,
We write to you from Spokane, WA, where your beloved Patterson grandparents and brother/uncle Dan live. We attend Westgate Christian Church, and are church family with Dan, Tonya, Courtney and Keenan. We love them, and therefore you as well, very much. We want you to know that the entire church body at Westgate is praying for Connor and for your family. We receive regular updates from Dan and Tonya, through e-mails from Tonya, and even in our Sunday worship services. Our family checks the Connor Watch website almost every day to see what specific prayers are needed on Connor's behalf.
The trial you are going through as a family hits very close to home for our family. When our son, Timothy, was three years old, he was diagnosed with acute lymphocytic leukemia and he went through three and a half years of chemotherapy and other treatments. When Timothy was going through his treatments, there was a prayer chain going around the whole country, through many congregations and with multitudes of individual Christian, such as is the case with Connor. We were often in despair, but never doubted the great love our God has for us, nor His ability to see us through our trials. At the beginning of the treatment, the doctors sat us down and told us that more family's break up that go through such a thing than stay together, but we were determined that would not happen. We wanted all around us to see the power that God had to heal, and to actually pull a family stronger together through something that, at times, seemed beyond our ability to bear. We were told by nurses and other families at the hospital that our family was an inspiration to them because of how closely we bonded together, and because of the working they saw with our church family, and even other Christian that we never would have met had the Christian community not pulled together to be part of God's work in Tim's life. We always gave the glory to God for any good that came out of a very difficult time in the life of our family. This is exactly what I see going on in your lives, and what a blessing that is! You are ministering to so many people in and around where you are, and all around the country in ways you probably never dreamed. Glory to God for that!Tim is now 18 years old - the same age as Connor and he just graduated from Northwest Christian High School in Spokane. He is a living, breathing example of God working a miracle, and we believe that God will work a miracle in Connor's life as well. Connor and Tim sound so much alike. In fact, when I was asking Tonya about Connor and what he was like when the accident first happend, she said, "Well, it is interesting that you ask me that, because I tell everyone that he is just like Timmy Blake. Connor has a deep love for the Lord just like Tim."
I lead songs frequently at Westgate, so music speaks to me, as I know its speaks to all of you and Connor. I chose a song for this past Sunday that I wanted to share with you, because, after the service, I thought about the song again, and thought you would be able to find strength in the words.
Jesus, You're my firm foundation.
I know I can stand secure.
Jesus, You're my firm foundation.
I put my hope in Your holy Word.
I put my hope in Your holy Word.
I have a living hope.
I have a future.
God has a plan for me.
Of this I'm sure.
Jesus, You're my firm foundation.
I know I can stand secure.
Jesus, You're my firm foundation.
I put my hope in Your holy Word.
I put my hope in Your holy Word.
Your Word is faithful.
Mighty in power.
God will deliver me.
Of this I'm sure.
Jesus, You're my firm foundation.
I know I can stand secure.
Jesus, You're my firm foundation.
I put my hope in Your holy Word.
I put my hope in Your holy Word.
Words and music by Nancy Gordon and Jamie Harvill
Please know that, even though we have never met you, we have a deep love for you and for Connor. We are praying for his individual needs each day, but also for his eventual complete restoration to health.
God Bless all of you and hold you in His love and care!
Evelyn, Paul, Timothy and Tesia Blake
Spokane, Washington
