Day 8 - June 23 - "I guess miracles do happen!"

My brothers are right - this kind of news has to be blogged by me, not them. They feel the pressure to not miss anything in translation, but like a game of "telephone", things can get mis-spoken inadvertently.

Kent's blog "The first hurdle has been cleared" is correct in its detail, but I feel the need to clarify a bit. No offense, Kent!  I've been covering for you since we were wee lads!

Kent wasn't in the room, and I was, so I need to convey to you the power this moment had. I felt a pang of pity as this highly intelligent and greatly skilled neurosurgeon struggled to explain why, 15 minutes earlier, he had been explaining the course of action necessary to unlock Connor's vertebrae, and now he's trying to explain the unexplainable - he doesn't need to straighten the vertebrae anymore!

"For some reason", Connor's vertebrae are now aligned.  Hallelujah!  "For some reason", between the X-ray this morning and the latest, the vertebrae unlocked from each other, moved to the right place, and allowed Connor's spinal cord to lose it's S-bend.  Praise the Lord!

The beauty of this moment is that we are familiar with The Reason. Even more, Cherié and I were very specifically praying that Connor's spine would realign by today, as were many of you. Wow! What an answer to prayer.

As we were standing in the doorway to Connor's room, praising God for this answer to prayer, we overheard the surgeon speaking to one of the nurses.  We couldn't hear what he said, but her response was "Well, I guess miracles do happen!"

Yes, they do.

Praise the Lord! Eric, Cherie and Joelle, this is Chrissy McGuire, Kathy's niece (who is in the waiting room with you for my father in law Cecil). I already miss you guys but think about you and Connor daily! We are praying for you and our youth group is praying for Connor as well! I praise God for Connor's spine! I will continue to check back here often for updates on Connor. I will be back in the waiting room on Saturday if the Lord doesn't heal one or both of our family members first, I'll see you then! My hope is still that I WON'T see you, at least in the waiting room! :) my email is cmcguires@hotmail.com if you want to contact me. Love and blessings to all of you, Chrissy.

Williamson's, this is awesome news, and an amazing answer to prayer! Everyone has been so concerned and in prayer for you all and Connor, we are so happy, and will continue to pray feverently for Connor as the doctors "plan" their next moves to help him. Our God is so worthy of all glory, honor, and praise! We look forward to seeing our Lord's plan for Connor continue in the future, and we pray for his healing. Love, Jeff and Vikki Davis and family.

WOW! That's awesome! Praise God!That must have happened right after I left - wish I'd stayed! This is just my opinion, but I think God was just waiting for them to take that halo off so there would be no doubt at all that He moved the vertebrae (in his time)!

Cherie,
Praise God for this progress! You know you analogy you used about Elijah and the 450 prophets of baal and the water on the altar? Can you see the spark? I do! I love you.

Ding! Ding! End of round one! And the points go to the Sovereign One's side. We are shouting with joy all the way from Morgan Hill.

Stand firm. Fight the good fight. Write down all blessings in a blessing jar to read when your hearts are troubled. This will help keep your mind fixed on Him.

Love and Prayers,

We have witnessed a miracle indeed!
This news is huge....it ranks right up there with the spinal cord not being severed. Wow!

THANK YOU LORD, THANK YOU!

Yet ANOTHER answer to prayer by our Sovereign God!!!

Days 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8

Prayer: That God would realign Connor's vertabrae. That He would "unlock" the C4 and C5s.

Answer: June 23 - The First Hurdle Has Been Cleared!
"...sometime in the last couple of hours his neck has moved back into place." From the time they had taken his halo off, the bones had adjusted back where they need to be!

June 23 - "I guess miracles do happen!"

I stand amazed...but I'm not the least bit surprised. God is faithful. Praise His holy name! Thank you, LORD! Thank you!

Connor, Eric, Cherie' and Joelle,

This is my first opportunity to check the blog from an actual computer. (As opposed to the demon Blackberry.) I'm able to surf through the comments and get a fresh overview of the progress.

What a wonderful opportunity to see God's hand at work. Laura commented that that "...God was waiting until the halo was removed so that there would be no doubt at all that He moved the vertebrae (in His time.)"

Tonya saw the spark on the waterlogged offering as it lay on the altar.

The Hahns are enjoying God as he "shows off."

I re-read Psalm 20 today (the one the Lord gave you), intending to remind myself that our trust is to be in the name of the LORD our God. Suddenly the promise of verse 8 was obviously, specifically for Connor. Wow!

My (current) favorite verse is Jeremiah 32:27 where God asks the question: "Behold, I am the LORD, the God of all flesh, Is there anything too hard for Me?"

We are watching as He answers.
...and I am in awe of Him.

We love you guys.
And we proudly stand beside you as we follow our Lord.

Because of Jesus,

Jeff (for the Slavich family in Morgan Hill)

Wasn't there also concern about blood clots lodging loose, etc during this spinal manipulation? What about that blood clot? Is he out of the clear there too?

Praise God! I too KNOW that God waited to straighten Connors neck when the halo came off. He did this to show that He is in control of Connor's healing and to gloriy Him. This way the doctors can't pat themselves on the back and say good job. The praise goes to our Father in heaven. God does rock and He is our Rock, keep leaning and resting on that rock Williamson's, He is our strengh. Don't you cry no more. I can't wait to see the many miracles that God has in store for Connor. Rock on dear Jesus!!!

Ginny, for all the Putano's
