Day 7 - June 22 - A Growing Faith
Eric's faith (along with many of ours) is deeper than it was a week ago. We talked today about how most of the time God uses a tiny chisel on each of us to shape us into the people we need to become, to shape us to be more like Christ. Or perhaps He buffs us so we can shine. It's often fairly painless and we tend to become immune to the work He's doing on us.
And then once in a while (normally when we least expect it), He pulls out his giant, oversized chisel and His gargantuan hammer and guess what? He puts it to work on us. This is what Eric and Cherié and Joelle and Connor and many of us journeying with them are experiencing right now (and some us thought He was finished with us! Ha!).
The big chisel hurts, no doubt. But it's part of the refinement that shapes us, that builds us, that restores us, that polishes us, that ultimately will make us whom He needs us to be. So in that case... bring it on.
This resurrection life you received from God is not a timid, grave-tending life. It's adventurously expectant, greeting God with a childlike "What's next, Papa?" God's Spirit touches our spirits and confirms who we really are. We know who he is, and we know who we are: Father and children. And we know we are going to get what's coming to us – an unbelievable inheritance! We go thorugh exactly what Christ goes through. If we go through the hard times with him, then we're certainly going to go through the good times with him!
- Romans 8:15-17 (Message)
• Not much has changed with Connor overnight. Continue to pray for rest and healing.
• When Eric awoke this morning, he read some scripture, and went to check the blog. He noticed the list of prayers that Jenann's had posted in her recent comment. Eric just went down the list and saw how many of them had been answered. For rest, provision, etc. Eric could just say, "Thank you, Lord, for this new day!" No alarms had gone off overnight. There was much to be thankful for.
• Concerns for Cherié - she awoke from a nap yesterday and had a very hard time seeing clearly. She is also lacking energy. She has a lot on her mind right now and is under enormous stress, so please pray for her. Pray that she'll sustain her health.
• Pray also that Cherié will be able to stop serving others and allow others to serve her. For those of you who know Cherié this is like asking a fish not to swim. She is so gifted in the area of service to others. She is a fabulous hostess, and right now she desires to continue in that role, but now is obviously not the time. Pray that she'll be able to set it aside and allow others to serve her.
It's Sunday. Tomorrow will be one week since this whole ordeal has begun. Thanks for your prayers and comments. God is good.

Our family will continue praying but will now pray for Cherie; for her health and well being. Thank you for the continued updates. Our family goes before the Lord with specific needs due to your heartfelt sharing.

Take My Hand
Written by Shawn McDonald and Paul Wright
Take my hand to the promise land
And on You I want to stand
‘Cause I cannot do it on my own
You're what I need and I need to be
Right by Your side ‘cause I cannot hide
Lord, I know that I need You
Na na na na na na na na na, I need You
Na na na na na na na na na, I need You
Without You I'm so alone
I am weak but You are strong
You pick me up when I'm falling down
And I am crying
Out to You inside of my heart
I need You, Lord, oh so, for the part
I want You to have my life, Jesus
I fall to my knees
And I'm begging You, please, oh, Lord
Won't You change me
Make me new from the inside out
I want to shout out Your name

Cherie,
I am also a hostess and have the gift of serving. I learned it from my mother and it is a blessed gift.
But, please remember Jesus came to serve and He knew when he needed to receive. He allowed his followers to wash his feet. He allowed them the blessing of serving.
Please rest. Let others get the blessing of serving you in this time.
We love you, we pray for you and we will see this through.
God bless you today.

Hello Mr. & Mrs. Williamson, Joelle, and Connor,
I am a friend of Joelle's and I wanted to tell you that I am praying for Connor, my family, my church family here in Livonia, MI, and friends all over the world are praying.
I also want Joelle to know that her work family at school is praying (i.e. all of us in the Library) as well.
Many prayers have been answered and Connor has progressed immensely in a week! We are praying that he continues to progress. I have also seen your faith as individuals and as a family. It is so encouraging to me and such a testimony. I am praying that through all of this, the Lord will continue to encourage you and show you his hand in all of this.
Keep your eyes on Jesus.
Always His,
Kelsey
Our church (SVCC in Gilroy) is praying for Connor and his family. We feel your burden and await expectantly for God's answer to our pleas for Connor's life. We love you.

Cherie my love, take time to just rest, sit and be still. You serve well but this not the time to host. Everyone is there with you because they love and support you and your family. Let them do what they have come to do and want to do for you. I love you and pray that peace will come to You, Connor, Eric and Joelle very soon....
I love you, take care of yourself xxoo.....your friend always....Sara

Me and my family are still praying. Hope things are going ok. Much love and support!
Much love, and God bless,

Tex and Family,
I cannot imagine the despair and struggles you are having. My problems with my son seem so insignificant to the trials you are going through. My family prays for Conner and your family to have Heavenly Father ease your pains and give you peace. Please let me know if you need anything. May God bless your family always!
This morning as Randy and Shep spoke to the congregation about Jesus showing up in the hallway, we all wept in joy and pain. Please know that your burden is hopefully a tiny bit lighter with each new person that prays for Connor and the family. That we, as brother's and sister's, are here to help each other through these time.
Pastor Dave spoke to us about what to do when Life Hurts. Right now, it does, a lot. And he said something that really spoke volumes to me (as a fairly new Christian) that God doesn't have the obligation to explain WHY, but he'll always be there, to hold us up and bring us through.
I weep for Cody and the kids that were there this week. But I know that God, in all His wisdom, will bring all involved through this with a great understanding of our Lord's grace, mercy and love for us.
Now...I'm going downstairs to make cookies for you all! And a few other things in the box, I'll send it Priority to Connor's room, with your names on it, but there will be things for Connor too. The apple crisp for him and Cody, will be later! I can't wait to make that (ok, the other kids can have some too!). Hope the cookies uplift your sugar for a while! Might even give Cherie a zing in her step for a little while!
As Always,
Michawn
