Day 14 - June 29 - Roto-bed
A quick update to fill everyone in on the physical situation. The nurses told us late last night that they were concerned that Connor's lung had collapsed. After praying about that, the X-rays came back showing that nothing had collapsed. Praise the Lord!
The staff is very concerned about the condition of his lungs, with all sorts of "stuff" accumulating in them and preventing his saturation levels from rising to the desired levels. They finally decided to place him in a thing called a roto-bed, which doesn't really "roto"; it's more of a rocking motion. It moves slowly back and forth like if you were on a really, really large ship. They should call it a rocko-bed, except that then we'd all think it was something Elvis owned. Anyway, he's in this machine that keeps his lungs moving from side to side, which is intended to loosen up the stuff in there. While he's on this bed, they have to keep him more heavily sedated. We've been told he would need to be on this thing for two or three weeks. We take that report and hand it to our Advocate for Him to take care of. We're praying that it's a matter of days, not weeks.
Continue to lift him up. He needs it.

Hi Tex, Cherie, Connor, & Joelle. I'm finally getting back to a computer and reading up on Connor's progress, though Linda has been keeping us updated while we were away. I'm sure you are VERY eager to get Connor closer to home, and I hope the roto-bed takes you a big step closer quickly. We've been thinking about everyone all week and sending good thoughts your way every day.

Hello Williamson family. I have been following Conner's progress. What he is going through is pretty common in high level injured patients. The Roto bed is no fun at all I absolutely hated it. I don't know where you are from but as soon as he is stabilized you need to get him to a Spinal chord hospital as close to your house as possible they know how to work with patients like your Son. Keep up your Faith because it will be tested BIG Time during your ordeal. My Prayers are with you I have been in your shoes before. Sincerely, Bob Spisak Aptos, Ca.
Regarding "This means war"
You are in a fierce battle because your doing Kingdom work. Praise God for the testimony all of you are being for the Body of Christ. Your testimony is mighty for the salvation of many and for the Glory of God.
Praise God for His Armor. Praise God for your Wisdom in the battle.
I have thought more than once because of your Strength in the Lord,
"God sure must trust His children, the Williamsons." Thank you for being an example of the working of the Power of God and your Faithfulness in the Storm.
His Angels will watch guard over you all.

I Corinthians 2:5
Your faith should not be in the wisdom of men but, in the power of God.
We are praying for protection, peace and for God's Spirit to reign in that place.
How wonderful to see Connor's handsome smiling face greet me as I signed on to your page today. I am continuing to pray for you all. I will specifically pray for protection around each of you today. TRUST in the Lord. Have faith. I believe in my heart and know it to be true.... Connor will be well again.
Hugs to each of you, granny too!

Eric,
Your faith in the power of our Lord has no equal here on earth. You have been tested more than most people will endure in a lifetime. This verse sticks in my head from James 4:7 "Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you." I do not believe you are crazy or losing your mind, however, you are being subjected to spiritual warfare that only a child of God can survive. Do not question the Father but embrace his power and glory and in the end he will lead you through the valley of darkness and into the light of his word. There is no substitute for prayer and I am certain that as you fight this battle His will shall be done.
My prayers are with you. God bless Connor and your family.

It was so good to see Connor's smile. We were at the cabin for 3 days...and even while there I had opportunity to share Connor's prayer request with a neighbor I'd never met from Fresno. She was a believer & her kids had all gone to Hume before. So amazing to see God's community of believers unite together in prayer. We will continue to pray for you all.
Ps. 29:11 'The Lord will give strengh to His people; the Lord will bless His people with peace.'
In His Grace,

Dear Eric,Cherie,Joelle and Connor,
I am so sorry for what you are all going through right now. And I wish that you didn't have to be going through this storm, I cry tears of sorrow at the low points that drive us to our knees and tears of joy at the Glorious way God answers our prayers.
Cry out to God with the untruths, listening to His reasoning. When you are weakened, remember Christ, just simply, Is.
For a mere man to face this as head of the family is a task that is way beyond my comprehension. And I marvel and thank God for your daily testimonies of how God is guiding you . I can even see His hand on your heart that allows Him to work in and through you and your family.
Please, please, know that you are never alone. You are loved by many.
Oh, and what a Beautiful Boy. He is gorgeous Mom and Dad. And Joelle, I know you love and are proud of your brother.
Thanks for the pictures.
Eric,
I'm continually amazed at your willingness to share your thoughts and fears with the world. It's obvious where your strength comes from. Your transparency during this time is an inspiration and example to all men of our responsibility as leader and priest of our family. Please don't feel pressured or obligated to update the blog until your family is safe and secure. You have already done more than most of us would dare to dream possible.
"For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in heavenly places. Therefore ...."
Ephesians 6:12-20
"Don't give up the ship!"
To all of you, Connor, Joelle, Cherie' and Eric:
We love you and continue to stand with you in prayer.
"2 Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. 3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, 4 who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God. 5 For as the sufferings of Christ abound in us, so our consolation also abounds through Christ."
We are comforted as we see the Lord comfort you.
Because of Jesus,
Jeff, CeCe, Beki and Nicky Slavich
