Day 10 - June 25 - Off the Pace
OK, I went into Connor's room to check on him. He was completely out, still under the influence of the sedatives from his angio and CT scans, and unresponsive to my voice. I stood there for a few minutes, just looking at his beautiful, freckle-filled face. As I watched, I glanced at his vital statistics and noticed that his heart rate was steady in the mid-sixties. Knowing that they have had Connor's pacemaker set to trigger at 45 beats/minute, I glanced at the pacemaker to see its setting - and it wasn't on. Startled, I took a closer look - and there were no wires between the pacemaker and Connor! After looking at the monitor about 15 times to make sure I was really seeing it, I hunted down the nurse. She told me that since Connor had not needed it for a day or so, they had turned it off, and he has been holding steady since then.
Praise the Lord! What another great answer to prayer. We will continue to pray for a stabilized heart rate, but I rejoice in this small positive step.
God is moving and working all over the world, using my son to challenge people's faith, encourage the desperate, and draw His children closer to Him. Makes me wish I had one of those maps with the stick-pins to show where everyone who is following this story is located!

Praising God with you for all these good reports! Continuing to pray for daily strength (for all of you!) and progress, and a full recovery. Even these daily small victories are huge!

I've been following Conner's story since day one. I've also been encouraging friends to pray and follow.
I'm in Tumwater WA (the tri-city area of Olympia/Lacey/Tumwater, the state capital of WA).
I've also contacted friends in Dubai, North Carolina, San Diego, and the Phoenix AZ area.

Williamsons,
Thank you for pressing on. These past few days we have been rocked by your unshakable faith.
God can use anyone he sees fit...shepards with speech impediments, a prophet with an attitude and lots of water :-) and even a young man from California who had a diving accident. You will probably never know the extent of the ripples this will cause in God's kingdom on this side of eternity. Rest assured however that you and Connor were specifically chosen for a time such as this...God prepared you, is equipping you and found you suitable for this high calling! How comforting to know that this situation and its outcome rests safely in His hands.
Please know that you have sisters and brothers praying for you in Alabama too!
Please add the elders and members of Campbell Church of Christ...Campbell, Ca.
Go Connor !!!
Jenann -
I got an email yesterday from a family praying in Hungary. Thanks for keeping this list for us all.
Kent
Eric, Cherie and Joelle,
Shannon and I are praying for you and Connor. We are glad to see the improvement and pray for it to continue. You have our support and prayers and that of our church (Immanuel Baptist in Magnolia, Arkansas) where Connor has been on the prayer list. I know it does not have to be said, but your friends at ZZRbikes are here for you.
Sincerely,
Charlie and Shannon Camp
(Eyesonly at ZZRbikes)
Eric,
Thanks so much for keeping us all up to date. I hope that Cody made it safe to visit his brother.
I also emailed your brother with a link for an online mapping program that you can link to Connor's page that would show all the places where Connor "has been".
As always,

There are a lot of us at Oakland Center in Fremont who have all of you in our prayers.
"... using my son to challenge people's faith, encourage the desperate, and draw His children closer to Him."
Isn't that amazing?
Praise God!!

Eric and family,
We are members of Riverpark Bible Church in Fresno and because our youth were at Hume the same time as Connor we have heard his story and are following the blog daily as well as praying daily. I have to say we have been so encouraged by your steadfast faith through this trial. My husband's sister broke her neck a few years ago in a diving accident while river rafting. To some extent we can identify with you. It has been a long road for my sister-in-law but God is so good and merciful. After the doctors told her she should have died, God in His great power has given her use of her arms and legs. She was not fully restored physically but God used this work in her to restore her spiritually as well as many others. To God be the Glory!
I am amazed at how God uses things in this life that we would never ask or wish to experience to do things that we would never dream could be done. He is able to do exceedingly and abundantly much more than we could ever hope or imagine.
We just wanted to encourage you that your not alone in this journey. Jeff and Danette Gillingham in Prather, CA. and our 4 girls are praying for you.
Danette
Folks in Pleasanton, Davis, Fremont, and Laytonville (all in CA) are also praying for Connor.
Best Wishes and Prayers for his recovery.

We are holding the whole family close in prayer and praising God for each victory. Thank you for keeping the blog up to date and providing us with such candid, honest prayer requests. Joelle...you are very special to our family and we'll see you when it's time. We're keeping the faith!!
Love from Michael, Sherri, Tarah and Caleb Duarte in Morgan Hill
I too have asked my church and friends to pray. We used to go to West Hills Church in Morgan Hill and knew the Williamson's from there and now are in Mt Juliet Tennesse. There are many prayer warriors out here hanging in with y'all! God answers prayers.

I'v been praying for Connor daily since hearing of his condition. Glory be to God! I shared Connor's story with some friends this past weekend. I've known these people for over fifteen years and have never taken the time to discuss my belief that prayer is ALL. Thank you for sharing all that has happened thus far. Your testimony is proof that God is in control.

I am certainly keeping the poor guy in my prayers, it's sad for such a horrible thing to happen, and I really hope everything goes well... you can tell him and his whole family that the prayers for him are not only coming from close-by, between you and myself, we can say that Italy is with him!!!!!!!!

“In Christ alone my hope is found;
He is my light, my strength, my song;
This cornerstone, this solid ground,
Firm through the fiercest drought and storm.
What heights of love, what depths of peace,
When fears are stilled, when strivings cease!
My comforter, my all in all
Here in the love of Christ I stand.”
Thank you to everyone who included their locations on this thread!! You've been added to the list!

Judyth Vary Baker--artist, writer, poet, advocate for human rights, Istanbul, Turkey and Lappland, Sweden: I would ask you to move his limbs, so they do not freeze, so his muscles will not waste...move the fingers, the toes, every stimulation is important. I don't know his condition or much about this from these posts, but if you massage, always move toward the heart, rub upwards very gently along his legs, move those joints...my grandmother 'froze' into a birdie like position...she got terrible bedsores...preventable with sheepskin and special mattresses...too often, vitamins are not believed in, but see if when he's fed he can get extra vitamin C, trans-resveratrol, etc. Trans-resveratrol (not oridnary resveratrol) rebuilds tissues and stops aging in mammals...also, studies have shown that omega-3 plus uridine rgenerates dendrite in the brain. We need to remember these essentials. Prayers can be answered by active intervention, and I believe that is inspired by God, too. I was hospitalized for a year and a half when I was only 5 1/2, and am alive because my doctor also made sure I got vitamins when I was being intravenously fed for seven months. JVB
